Abstract: A device for generating an inhalable medium, the device comprising: a container retaining a first volatilizable material; a heater for volatilising the first volatilizable material held in the container; a chamber containing aerosolizable material comprising nicotine; a reservoir containing a basic solution; and an outlet; the arrangement being such that in use, the basic solution is released from the reservoir and enters the chamber containing the aerosolizable material, and the first volatilizable material is volatilized by the heater to form a vapor and/or an aerosol, which passes through the chamber containing aerosolizable material and entrains one or more constituents of the aerosolizable material, thereby forming an inhalable medium which passes through the outlet.

Abstract: A vapor provision system includes an inhaler component and a base unit, wherein the inhaler component includes a thermal store; and the base unit includes a receiving zone for receiving the inhaler component; and a source of energy for heating the thermal store in the inhaler component when the inhaler component is located in the receiving zone such that heat from the heated thermal store is used to vaporize at least a portion of a vapor precursor material to form a vapor for inhalation by a user when the inhaler component is removed from the receiving zone.

Abstract: Various configurations of heater components for aerosol provision devices are disclosed.
One heater component is configured to receive aerosol generating material and has a longitudinal axis. The heater component has a first length along the longitudinal axis, the aerosol generating material has a second length along the longitudinal axis, and a ratio of the first length to the second length is between about 1.03 and about 1.25.
Another heater component has a mass of between about 0.1g and about 1g. A further heater component comprises an alloy comprising at least 99 wt % Iron. A yet further heater component comprises carbon steel. A still further heater component defines a longitudinal axis and has a wall thickness, measured in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, of between about 0.025 mm and about 2 mm.-

Abstract: Described herein is an aerosol-generating device for generating aerosol from an aerosol-generating material. The aerosol-generating device comprises a heating assembly having a mouth end and a distal end. The heating assembly comprises: a first induction heating unit arranged to heat, but not burn, the aerosol-generating material in use; a second induction heating unit arranged to heat, but not burn, the aerosol-generating material in use, the first induction heating unit being disposed closer to the mouth end of the heating assembly than the second induction heating unit; and a controller for controlling the first and second induction heating units. The heating assembly is configured such that at least one induction heating unit reaches a maximum operating temperature within 20 seconds of supplying power to the at least one induction heating unit.
