Abstract: An electrochemical device includes a negative electrode. The negative electrode includes a negative active material layer. The negative active material layer includes a negative active material. The negative active material includes a magnesium-doped carbon-silicon-oxide material. A surface of a crystalline oxide of the magnesium-doped carbon-silicon-oxide material is coated with a carbon nanotube cladding layer. By employing the magnesium-doped carbon-silicon-oxide material coated with a carbon nanotube capping layer, the electrochemical device can improve the first-cycle Coulombic efficiency of the electrochemical device, optimize structural stability of the electrochemical device during cycling, and in turn, improve a cycle capacity retention rate and cycle performance of the electrochemical device.
