摘要： An ignition coil assembly for an internal combustion engine includes a primary coil, a secondary coil, at least one bobbin, a core, a first resin member and a casing. The primary coil and said secondary coil are wound on the bobbin. The core has core elements with a gap there-between through which the primary and secondary coils are magnetically coupled to one each other. The casing accommodates the primary and secondary coils, the bobbin and the core. And the first resin member covers a part of the core elements, the part which are confronted with said secondary coil, and the first resin member is accommodated in the casing.

摘要： An ignition apparatus for an internal combustion engine has an ignition coil 4,5 disposed within an electrically insulating case 1, and a power switch 6 disposed within the case and comprising a switching unit 8, 9 for intermittently supplying a primary current to the ignition coil. A gel 12 is disposed over the switching unit and at least one electrical wire conductor 21 having one end connected to the switching unit and the other end extending outwardly of the power switch. An electrically insulating resin 14 fills the insulating case, and supports/covers the ignition coil and the power switch. The electrical wire conductor includes a flexible bent portion 21a disposed within the gel for absorbing any tension in the conductor. With this arrangement, a heat shock resistant performance of the wire conductor is improved and working reliability is also improved.

A plurality of closed magnetic circuit cores (2) are built in a casing (8) and each have an excitation portion (2a) and non-excitation portions (2b). A plurality of coil parts (100) each includes a primary coil (4) and a secondary coil (6) which are arranged to surround the excitation parts (2a) of a corresponding one of the closed magnetic cores (2). The closed magnetic circuit cores (2) are arranged along an axial direction (A) of the coil parts (100) such that adjacent ones of the non-excitation portions (2b), which are those sides of adjacent cores (2) each of which extends from one end of a corresponding excitation portion (2a), overlap each other at least partially in the axial direction (A).
