摘要: Apparatuses, methods, and computer programs are disclosed for fractional/arbitrary tile grouping. An example apparatus includes circuitry configured to receive a video presentation frame, wherein the video presentation frame represents three-dimensional data; divide the video presentation frame into a plurality of tiles, wherein one or more of the plurality of tiles may be a fractional tile, as part of a process of encoding the video presentation frame, wherein each tile represents a part of the three-dimensional data of the video presentation frame; group the tiles into one or more groups, wherein individual tiles of the video presentation frame have a capability of not belonging to any of the one or more groups; in response to fractional tiling being present, transmit a signal of fractional tiling related syntax or semantics; and provide an encoded video presentation frame to a decoder, the encoded video presentation frame comprising the grouping of the tiles.

摘要: An apparatus comprising circuitry configured to: receive as input a three-dimensional mesh represented as at least one geometry patch of an atlas and at least one texture patch of the atlas; create an occupancy map that indicates which pixels of the at least one geometry patch and the at least one texture patch are occupied having a valid value; wherein the occupancy map is configured to be used to reconstruct the mesh; enter lossy mode; apply, while in lossy mode, an adaptive smoothing filter algorithm to the occupancy map to discard at least one edge of the occupancy map, and to reduce a bitrate for transmission of the occupancy map; store, while in lossy mode, the adaptively smoothed occupancy map and at least one occupancy filter threshold; and encode the adaptively smoothed occupancy map and the at least one occupancy filter threshold into a bitstream.

摘要: A method for decoding comprises receiving a compressed bitstream relating to a video presentation; decoding from the received bitstream data relating to three-dimensional blocks of a video frame; for each block of the video frame, determining information on surface parameters; generating a bounding box for a three-dimensional block according to the surface parameters; calculating a ray direction for each pixel of the three-dimensional block from a viewpoint to coordinates of the pixel; determining at least two points according to an intersection of the ray to the generated bounding box; ray casting points between the determined at least two points until a condition to finish the ray casting is met; reconstructing three-dimensional data from the geometry image and the texture image according to the information on one or more surface parameters for a block; reconstructing a video presentation according to the reconstructed three-dimensional data for rendering.
