摘要： The invention is directed to an appliance for treating hair (1), which is comprised of a handle section (2) and a heatable hair treatment section (3). The section (3) possesses an approximately tubular bristle mounting member (4) which is assembled from two half shells (7, 8). Projecting outwardly from the half shell (7) are bristles (5), and the half shell (8) is equipped with rib members (6). The radius (R1) of the cross section of the bristled half shell (7) is smaller than the radius (R2) of the cross section of the ribbed half shell (8). These different radii (R1, R2) enable a user both to form waves with long or medium long hair and to treat short hair in the area close to the scalp. The larger radius may be used for large-volume waves in particular where long hair is involved, while the smaller radius is suitable in particular for treating short hair as well as hair in the area close to the scalp.

The hair-shaping appliances may include, for example, (a) a forward and reverse stroke liquid dosing device; (b) a tubular drum constructed to contact the hair, the tubular drum having through-passages; and (c) an evaporating device comprising an evaporator chamber to which a liquid is delivered by the dosing device, the evaporating device being constructed to produce steam from the delivered liquid and to deliver the steam through the through-passages in the tubular drum to treat the hair. Excess liquid is removed from the evaporator chamber by a return stroke of the dosing device.

摘要： A catalytic gas combustion device for an appliance for personal use with a gas supply device and a catalyst connected to the gas supply device is disclosed. To ignite the gas/air mixture and therefore to initiate catalytic combustion at the catalyst, an ignition device which can be controlled by an ignition system is provided. The gas supply device has a bypass for branching off part of a gas stream which flows onto the ignition device. In this way, the ignition system is actuated even shortly after the gas valve device is opened, and the catalyst is brought to its operating temperature as a result of the explosion of the gas/air mixture.

摘要： Steam styling tongs including an evaporating device which is supplied with heat by a heating device and comprises an evaporator surface in thermal contact with the heating device. Liquid evaporates on the evaporator surface into steam, which then passes into a steam-distributor chamber and, there, flows outward via through-passages. The heating device is formed in a combustion chamber of the drum, in which, during the heating operation, flame-free combustion of a gas takes place by means of a catalyst, of which the combustion gases pass out via outlets formed in the drum or in the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber and the steam-distributor chamber are formed by a common chamber. Means which prevent water from penetrating into the common chamber are also provided.
