摘要: A droplet discharge apparatus includes a discharger, a suction device, a connector, and a collector. The discharger discharges droplets. The suction device sucks generated matter when the discharger discharges droplets. The connector connects the discharger with the suction device and includes a path through which the generated matter is to be sent in a suction direction from the discharger toward the suction device. The collector in the path collects the generated matter. The collector has a larger cross-sectional area to collect the generated matter than a cross-sectional area of the connector in at least one of the suction direction or in a direction orthogonal to the suction direction.

摘要: Since a fluorine treatment or the like is applied on a surface of an intermediate transfer belt (10), and thus, the surface bears water repelling property, when fixer (92) is supplied from a fixing apparatus (90) to surface parts of the intermediate transfer belt which are carrying a toner image, the fixer is present only on the toner parts. Namely, the fixer is not attached to surface parts which are not carrying the toner. Consequently, when the surface parts are pressed on transfer paper (P) for transferring and fixing, the fixer attached to the transfer paper is present only on the parts of the toner T. Thus, compared with a conventional case where fixer is imparted to entire transfer paper, a reduced quantity of the fixer is impregnated into the transfer paper, and thus, generation of curls and wrinkles of the transfer paper is restrained.

摘要: An image forming apparatus to develop a latent image formed on an image bearing member with a liquid type developer. In the image forming apparatus, a developer container contains the liquid-type developer. A developer carrier carries the liquid-type developer to supply the liquid-type developer to the image bearing member. A developer applying device applies the liquid-type developer to the developer carrier. A holding part holds a part of the liquid-type developer contained in the developer carrier and is located below the developer applying device. A developer transfer device transfers the liquid-type developer from the developer container to the holding part. As a further feature, the developer transfer device may include a developer transfer member having a width smaller than a length of the developer applying roller in an axial direction and a developer spread device provided between an outlet of the developer transfer member and an inlet of the holding part. The developer spread device spreads the liquid-type developer in the axial direction of the developer applying roller. In the image forming apparatus, the liquid-type developer can be efficiently spread out on the developer carrier, and can thereby be effectively applied from the developer carrier on the image bearing member to develop the latent image.
