摘要: The inkjet printer includes a head, a circulation flow path, a cap, a first pump, and a control unit. The head has a nozzle surface having nozzles to eject ink. The circulation flow path circulates ink. The cap can contact the nozzle surface. The first pump is connected to an exhaust hole formed in the cap. In a soaking processing, the processor drives the first pump and causes the nozzle surface to be soaked in liquid, in a capping state in which the cap is in contact with the nozzle surface. In a circulation processing, the processor causes the ink to circulate in the circulation flow path in a state in which the nozzle surface is soaked in the liquid, after the soaking processing.

摘要: A method of preparing a printhead for dry shipment. The method includes the steps of: treating an ink pathway in the printhead with an aqueous treatment fluid containing at least one ink-soluble solvent having a boiling point of at least 150 degrees; and drying the printhead so as to leave a film of liquid solvent on a surface of the ink pathway. The film of liquid solvent solubilizes organic materials leached or outgassed from the printhead during dry storage or shipment.

One of the first liquid receiver and the second liquid receiver has an engagement portion, and the other of the first liquid receiver and the second liquid receiver has an engaged portion. A play between the engagement portion and the engaged portion is smaller than a distance between both ends of the second receiving surface in the direction parallel to the second receiving surface.

摘要: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a transport speed detector for detecting transport speed of a printing medium, an inkjet head having a plurality of discharge portions for discharging ink droplets from the discharge portions for printing, and a flushing controller for carrying out discrete flushing from the discharge portions. For an acceleration area of the printing medium where the transport speed detector detects an increase in transport speed before printing, a first discharge rate is set as discharge rate of the ink droplets per unit time for the discharge flushing. For a constant speed area of the printing medium where the transport speed detector detects a substantially constant transport speed during printing, a second discharge rate lower than the first discharge rate is set as discharge rate of the ink droplets per unit time for the discharge flushing.

摘要: A printer includes a cap unit, a transporting driving roller, a power transmitting unit, and a pump. At least a part of each of the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump has the same height in a height direction of the apparatus (a Z-axis direction) and the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump are arranged along a direction (a Y-axis direction) intersecting with a rotational axis line direction (an X-axis direction) of the transporting driving roller. Therefore, it is possible to arrange so as to suppress each dimension of the cap unit, the transporting driving roller, the power transmitting unit, and the pump in a height direction and it is possible to contribute to the miniaturization of the apparatus.

In the liquid supplying device, the inside of one intermediate storage, out of the first intermediate storage and the second intermediate storage, is depressurized, and the liquid is supplied from the liquid supply source to the one intermediate storage.
