    Abstract: An image processing apparatus and an image fine-tuning method are provided. The image processing apparatus includes a high-pass filter, a block comparator, an image data reconstructor, and a calculator. The high-pass filter receives a first image to generate a filtered image. The block comparator receives an input image and the first image to generate a block comparison result. The image data reconstructor receives the filtered image and the block comparison result to generate image reconstruction data. The calculator receives the input image and the image reconstruction data to generate an output image.

    Abstract: The disclosure proposes a method of texture synthesis and an apparatus using the same. In one of the exemplary embodiments, the step of generating the first single scale detail image would include not limited to: performing a feature extraction of a first pixel block of an image frame to derive a first pixel feature, applying a first criteria to the first pixel feature to derive a positive result, performing a first detail alignment and a maximum extension of the positive result to derived an adjusted positive mapping result, applying a second criteria, which is opposite to the first criteria, to the first pixel feature to derive a negative result, performing a second detail alignment and a minimum extension of the negative result to derived an adjusted negative mapping result, and blending the adjusted positive mapping result and the adjusted negative mapping result to generate the first single scale detail image.

    Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method thereof are provided. The image processing apparatus includes a false contour detection circuit and a false contour reduction circuit. The false contour detection circuit includes detection modules and a determination module. The detection modules respectively detect different features of the same image input signal and correspondingly output feature coefficients. The determination module is coupled to the detection modules and determines a false contour coefficient according to the feature coefficients. The false contour reduction circuit is coupled to the determination module of the false contour detection circuit to receive the false contour coefficient and perform false contour reduction on the image input signal according to the false contour coefficient, so as to output a corresponding image output signal.

    Abstract: A display system, an electronic apparatus and a display adjustment method thereof are provided. The electronic apparatus comprises a display panel, a timing controller circuit and a processing circuit. The display adjustment method of the electronic apparatus comprising: processing, by the timing controller circuit, frame data to be displayed by the display panel; analyzing, by the processing circuit, an image including a face of a person, and comparing an average luminance value of the face area with a threshold to obtain adjustment information with respect to the light perceived by the face; and correspondingly adjusting, by the timing controller circuit, the frame data or at least one display characteristics associated with the frame data according to the adjustment information. Furthermore, the display system comprises the processing circuit for one electronic apparatus, and the display panel and the timing controller for another electronic apparatus.

    Abstract: A method for de-contouring a source image is provided. In the method, a reference image is obtained based on the source image. Multi-oriented gradient calculation is performed on each pixel of the reference image, so as to obtain, for each pixel of the reference image, multiple gradient features that respectively correspond to multiple directions. For each pixel of the reference image, a monotonicity index is determined based on the corresponding gradient features. Then, a detail-protecting and de-contour operation is performed on the source image based on the monotonicity indices determined for the pixels of the reference image.
