    Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method for a high dynamic range effect includes a conversion circuit, a specular detection circuit, and a blending circuit. The conversion circuit converts first pixel data of the current pixel of a current frame to a second pixel data, wherein a luminance of the second pixel data is lower than a luminance of the first pixel data. The specular detection circuit detects a specular degree of the current frame to produce a specular map, wherein the specular map includes a specular degree value of a current pixel. The blending circuit blends the first pixel data and the second pixel data according to the specular degree value of the current pixel to obtain blended pixel data of the current pixel.

    Abstract: A method and a system for video frame processing are proposed. The method is applicable to a system including a computing device and a head-mounted display having a motion sensor, a processor, and a display. The method includes the following steps. A sequence of rendered video frames including a first frame and a second frame subsequent to the first frame is received by the processor from the computing device. A first head movement of the head-mounted display is obtained from the motion sensor by the processor, where the first head movement is associated with the first frame. An interpolated frame is rendered according to the first frame, the second frame, and the first head movement and displayed subsequent to the first frame and prior to the second frame on the display by the processor.

    Abstract: A method of and a display control device for emulating OLED degradation for an OLED display panel are proposed, where the OLED display panel includes pixels, and each of the pixels includes subpixels. The method includes the following steps. A current image signal is received. A driving signal level for each of the subpixels is determined based on the current image signal. An actual surface temperature of each of the subpixels is estimated based on the corresponding driving signal level. An accumulated stress of each of the subpixels is computed based on the corresponding driving signal level, the corresponding actual surface temperature, and at least one previous image signal prior to the current image signal. A degradation map that emulates OLED degradation of the OLED display panel is generated based on the accumulated stress of each of the subpixels.

    Abstract: An image processing apparatus and method for a high dynamic range effect are provided.     Abstract: A method of and a display control device for emulating OLED degradation for an OLED display panel are proposed, where the OLED display panel includes pixels, and each of the pixels includes subpixels.     Abstract: The disclosure provides a backlight control method for motion blur reduction, a backlight module and a display apparatus using the same. The backlight control method includes the following steps. An input frame including image blocks is received. A brightness level of each of the image blocks is determined to accordingly determine a local dimming value of each backlight block, where the backlight blocks respectively correspond to the image blocks. A boosted backlight value and a dimmed backlight value for each of the backlight blocks are computed according to the local dimming values. The backlight blocks are driven according to the boosted backlight values and the dimmed backlight values in a time sequence.
