Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for desizing, scouring and bleaching of cellulosic materials, which are carried out by contacting the cellulosic materials simultaneously or sequentially in a single-bath process with an enzyme system and a bleaching system comprising hydrogen peroxide or at least one peroxy compound which generates hydrogen peroxide when dissolved in water, or combinations thereof, and at least one bleach activator.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods for single-bath desizing, scouring and bleaching of cellulosic materials, which are carried out by contacting the cellulosic simultaneously or sequentially with an enzyme system and a peracid bleaching system under conditions that do not require emptying the bath or rinsing the cellulosic materials between desizing, scouring and bleaching steps.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions for removing excess dye from dyed and/or printed materials, such as, textile materials dyed with disperse dyes, by treating a dyed or printed material with an esterase. The improvements resulting form the present invention include, for example, improvements in the washfastness, the wetfastness, the crockfastness, sublimation, and/or the quality of the color, such as, brightness, of dyed and/or printed materials. The present invention also relates to methods for printing or dyeing a material by dyeing or printing the material with a combination of a dye that is affected by esterase treatment and a dye that is not affected by esterase treatment, and after dyeing or printing the material, discharging residual dye by treating the material with an esterase.
