Abstract:
A knitting machine capable of changing a pile length includes a low-pile sinker and a high-pile sinker, a low-pile selector jack arranged on the rear end side of the low-pile sinker, a high-pile selector jack arranged on the rear end side of the high-pile sinker, an actuator operable to, when a pile yarn and a ground yarn are drawn in by a knitting needle, selectively perform the first control in which the actuator acts on the low-pile selector jack, the second control in which the actuator acts on the high-pile selector jack, and the third control in which the actuator does not act on any of the low-pile and high-pile selector jacks, and a cam operable to push out the selector jack subjected to the action of the actuator and the sinker which is in contact with the selector jack to an area between the knitting needles.
Abstract:
A bent part of a sock has (i) a bulging part having a first bulging region which includes a region in which the number of wales decreases, and a second bulging region which includes a region in which the number of wales increases and (ii) an extended part having a first extended region in which the number of wales increases, and a second extended region in which the number of wales decreases. The extended part is located so as to be closer to a bend direction side than the bulging part. The extended part has a boundary part between the first extended region and the second extended region which boundary part has a bend direction side first end. The bend direction side first end is located on a center line in a direction in which a width of the sock extends, or within a predetermined distance from the center line.
Abstract:
A knitted fabric that has a three-dimensional appearance includes a plurality of knitting structures of different pile lengths. The knitting structures include a plain stitch of ground yarn and pile yarn, a low-pile stitch in which a sinker-loop length of the pile yarn is longer than that of ground yarn, and a high-pile stitch in which the sinker-loop length of the pile yarn is longer than that in the low-pile stitch. A pile motif is formed by selectively arranging, in the same course, the low-pile stitch and the high-pile stitch in a region of the plain stitches on a stitch-by-stitch basis or by selectively arranging, in the same course, the high-pile stitch in a region of the low-pile stitches on a stitch-by-stitch basis.
Abstract:
A knit product includes a compression region and is formed by a circular knitting machine which knits first and second stitches having different stitch sizes in the same course by moving sinkers in and out of between reciprocating knitting needles. The second stitch has a smaller stitch size than the first stitch. The circular knitting machine selectively arranges the second stitch on a stitch-by-stitch basis. The knitting needles are arranged on a cylinder thereof at a density of about 14 to about 24 per inch in a circumferential direction of the cylinder. The yarn count of a face yarn of a knitting yarn corresponds to a cotton count larger than 10. A back yarn of the knitting yarn is a covering yarn having a core yarn of polyurethane of about 70 denier or less or a man-made fiber of about 140 denier or less subjected to texturing.
Abstract:
A circular knitting machine includes sinkers and selector jacks corresponding thereto that are provided as separate components. The selector jacks are arranged radially outside the sinkers, and are provided with selector butts such that the selector butts of circumferentially adjacent selector jacks are arranged at different radial positions. An actuator that acts on the selector butts is arranged radially outside the cylinder. The circular knitting machine prevents a failure of sinker selection, while increasing a rotation speed of a cylinder holding knitting needles.
