Abstract: A force transmission mechanism includes a force adjuster that receives a driving force and that is configured to change a force transmission efficiency, and also includes a driving member that is configured to connect an end effector and the force adjuster via a joint section and transmit the driving force. The force adjuster converts the driving force into a linear force via a rotational force, and increases the conversion efficiency from the driving force to the linear force such that an amount of increase in the force transmission efficiency increases with increasing displacement amount of the driving member when the driving member is displaced in accordance with flexing or curving of the joint section.

Abstract: A medical manipulator includes: an elongated support member; an end effector that is supported at a distal end of the support member so as to be movable in a longitudinal axial direction; a first pulling pulley that is supported so as to be rotatable about a first shaft that is secured to the end effector and that is orthogonal to the longitudinal axis; and a first wire that is wound around the first pulling pulley so as to cause, when a proximal end thereof is pulled, tensile forces in substantially the same directions to act on the first pulling pulley on either side of the first pulling pulley flanking the first shaft.

Abstract: An access port is fixed to a biological membrane, such as the pericardium, in a state in which it penetrates the biological membrane. Provided is an access port including an inner tube and an outer tube fitted together so as to be movable relative to each other in an axial direction, wherein at least one of the inner tube and the outer tube has holding surfaces having substantially complementary shapes that are brought close to or away from each other by relative movement of the inner tube and the outer tube.
