摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for a lead, needle, and cannula that are sized and shaped for ease of needle threading and positioning, e.g., for implanting the lead into biological tissue. The lead has an opening at one end surrounded by an expanded region. The needle has a ledge in a side of the needle. The cannula has an exit gate with an aperture sized to accept the expanded region of the lead. A portion of the needle is held inside the cannula and can extend or retract therein. When the expanded region of the lead is threaded through the exit gate aperture, the needle is configured to extend through the opening of the lead and catch the lead on the ledge. The needle is further configured to extend past the exit gate of the cannula while pulling the lead through the slot and free of the aperture.

摘要: Tools and techniques for a flexible surgical halo are described. Flexible surgical halo tools and techniques are usable to impede a flow of a liquid and route the liquid away from a device attached to or beneath the flexible surgical halo. In one example, a flexible surgical halo includes an elastically deformable body including a tube portion and a canopy portion. The tube portion is configured for attachment to an outer surface of a device, and the canopy portion is configured to route liquids along an upper surface or an outer edge of the canopy. The canopy portion has a lower surface configured to ensure that liquid is unable to reach the tube portion. In this way, flexible surgical halo tools and techniques provide the ability to shield a surgical instrument from becoming soiled by liquid inside of a body cavity.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for conveying implements through a narrow passage in a body. In an illustrative embodiment, an insertion tube defines therein lumens and is configured to slide through an orifice and into a passageway to a target tissue. A first probe is connectable to a power source, is slidably receivable through one of the lumens, and has a distal end insertable into the target tissue. An imaging probe is connectable to an imaging device configured to collect imaging data at a distal end, is slidable through one of the lumens not receiving the first probe, and is positionable to collect imaging data at a distal end of the insertion tube. A second probe is connectable to the power source, is slidably receivable through one of the lumens not receiving the first probe, and has a distal end insertable into the target tissue.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to embodiments of an occlusive medical device including a frame and at least one closure coupled to the frame. The frame includes a distal annular flange having a radially outer surface and a radially inner surface, a proximal annular flange having a radially outer surface and a radially inner surface, and a waist portion extending between and connecting the distal annular flange to the proximal annular flange. The radially inner surface of the distal annular flange, the waist member, and the radially inner surface of the proximal annular flange define an unobstructed passageway through the frame. The at least one closure is configured to close the passageway to: (i) provide an occlusive effect, and (ii) enable subsequent access through the passageway.

The reinforcement layer is disposed inside the tubular member in the second region. An outer diameter of the first region is set smaller than an outer diameter of the second region.

The valve assembly includes a guard assembly, and a seal assembly disposed adjacent the guard assembly. Each seal segment of the plurality of seal segments includes a base portion and a seal portion extending from the base portion. Each base portion including an outer edge formed of three segments. Each seal segment of the plurality of seal segments is disposed relative to an adjacent seal segment of the plurality of seal segments such that two of the three segments of the outer edge of the respective seal segments align with each other. The valve assembly also includes a centering mechanism for biasing the seal assembly and guard assembly towards a center of the cavity of the instrument valve.
