Abstract: An image analyzing apparatus includes an image input portion, an image processor, a distribution characteristic value calculator, a recording portion, and a comparison information output portion. The image input portion inputs an endoscopic image. The image processor generates a brightness-corrected image. The endoscopic image is corrected to the brightness-corrected image wherein the brightness-corrected image includes a brightness distribution that being substantially uniform. The distribution characteristic value calculator extracts at least one of a red color component, a green color component, and a blue color component in the brightness-corrected image and determines a first distribution characteristic value of the extracted color component. The recording portion records information including a plurality of second distribution characteristic values. The comparison information output portion compares the first distribution characteristic values and the second distribution characteristic value with each other.

Abstract: An endoscope includes an objective optical system provided in a distal end portion of an insertion portion, and a light splitting element configured to split a light beam from an objective optical system into a plurality of light beams including a first light beam and a second light beam. The first light beam is reflected by a reflection mirror, and is formed into an image on a first image pickup device. The second light beam is formed into an image on a second image pickup device. The first image pickup device and the second image pickup device are disposed adjacent to the light splitting element at positions different from each other with respect to an optical axis of the light beam from the objective optical system.

Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes a processor configured to carry out a reversal process on a side image of a subject picked up with an image pickup device, the reversal process reversing an order of a plurality of pixels located in the side image and arranged from a predetermined position in a radial direction, and cause a display apparatus to display a front image and the side image of the subject picked up with the image pickup device as a display image. The processor adjusts the timing at which the front image is displayed in such a way that the front image acquired simultaneously with the side image is displayed at a timing that accords with the timing at which the side image having undergone the reversal process is displayed on the display apparatus.

Abstract: An endoscope system has an insertion portion, a forward observation window configured to acquire a forward-field-of-view image, a lateral observation window configured to acquire a lateral-field-of-view image, an image pickup device and a video processor. A positional displacement correcting portion of the video processor detects a positional relationship between a portion where the forward-field-of-view image is formed and a portion where the lateral-field-of-view image is formed, on the image pickup device, and generates displacement amount data. A boundary correcting portion generates an image signal in which the forward-field-of-view image and the lateral-field-of-view image are arranged with an image center point provided in the portion and an image center point provided in the portion caused to correspond to each other, based on the displacement amount data.
