Abstract: In one aspect of the present invention, device information about each slave unit is acquired, each slave unit is grouped from the device information about each slave unit and information about a definition file, and setting information providing for communication operation including generation of a data frame transmitted from a master unit to the slave unit. In generating setting information, the setting information is generated such that the setting information is transmitted in a frame format, in which a data field in each unit in which control data of each slave unit is invalidated due to a transfer abnormality of a data frame is ensured in each group, the data field being included in the data frame in which the control data is stored.

Abstract: At least some of plural control target devices are classified so as to belong to one of plural groups. A control device holds identification information specifying a belonging control target device and information about a behavior of a remaining control target device in detecting an abnormality of a control target device belonging to an identical group with respect to each group. The control device detects the abnormality of each of the plural control target devices based on data exchanged with the plural control target devices in executing a user program. When the abnormality is detected in one of the plural control target devices, the control device refers to the identification information to specify an abnormal group to which the control target device in which the abnormality is detected belongs, and the control device refers to the information about the behavior to control action of the abnormal group.

Abstract: The convenience of a design of a system is improved by making it easier to verify consumed electric power when designing and constructing the system. An operation screen is displayed upon execution of on a PC for supporting the design of a control system. The configuration of a control system can be controlled in an editing region, and unit images representing an I/O unit are connected in order to a unit image representing a communication coupler. A power supply unit can be inserted into this configuration. An icon indicates a shortage of electric power to the units downstream of the unit indicated by a selected image. When a user mouses the pointer over the icon, the detailed meaning of the icon is displayed in a message. The designer is thus capable of easily verifying the position at which a power source supply unit should be added.
