An airbag device includes an airbag module that is located behind a multipart dashboard. An opening device opens the multipart dashboard in a manner similar to that of the mouth of a fish. An operating method for an airbag device with an airbag module located behind a multipart dashboard includes opening the dashboard in a manner similar to that of the mouth of a fish before, during, or after the triggering of the airbag device. According to another embodiment, a dashboard includes at least one fabric flap or foil flap which is integrated into the dashboard on at least one side by using detachable retaining devices in order to close an opening in the dashboard. The airbag module is positioned behind the opening in such a way that an airbag opens the retaining devices when it is triggered and emerges through the opening.

An airbag system includes at least one cover configuration movable from a closed position to an open position. An airbag is disposed behind the at least one cover configuration when the at least one cover configuration is in the closed position. The airbag is configured to expand when being filled with gas. A control device includes a gas generating configuration and a mechanical configuration. The gas generating configuration and the mechanical configuration operate as a drive configuration for moving the at least one cover configuration from the closed position to the open position for allowing the airbag to expand.

The invention pertains to an airbag device for a motor vehicle with at least one cover flap, behind which is a gas generator with which a gas bag can be inflated, and also moving drive devices that can be actuated by and are connected to each cover flap, where the latter is moved before or during triggering of the gas generator within the airbag device or within a part of the motor vehicle containing the airbag device. Furthermore, it is provided that the drive devices contain at least one piston running within a channel.

The invention relates to an air bag arrangement in vehicle, having a gas bag which, as the result of a triggering by a sensor, can be inflated with gas by a gas generator and, during the inflating, can be advanced into an interior of the vehicle, the gas generator having at least two driving stages with propellant charges which can be ignited in a time-related succession and of which the first propellant charge is ignited by a triggering by a sensor and the second propellant charge being ignited facultatively when the gas bag moves beyond a defined advancing position. In addition, the invention relates to a triggering process for an air bag arrangement, wherein, as a function of the driving situation, a first stage of at least one gas generator or at least a first gas generator is triggered, the gas generated in this manner is guided into at least one gas bag for its partial filling, at least one possible hindering of the expansion of the gas bag is detected, and in the case of an unhindered expansion of the gas bag at least one additional stage of the gas generator or at least one additional gas generator is triggered for the further or complete filling of the gas bag.

An operating method for a safety steering mechanism for a steering column that can be adjusted by a comfort adjustment in accordance with the requirements and/or wishes of a driver by means of linear positioning devices and of which at least an end area of the steering column can be moved away from a driver's position in an accident situation. The movement of at least the end or the steering column away from a driver's position is braked in an accident situation in a load-receiving manner by load absorption devices contained in the linear positioning devices.

The invention creates an airbag device, wherein a driver's airbag is provided, at least substantially “stationary” relative to a steering wheel movement, and which has a shape that at least partially covers an adjacent A column of a vehicle in the inflated state or has a butterfly-like shape, which is correctly correlated with the driver by the embodiment of the driver's airbag stationary in any steering wheel position. Furthermore, the invention creates an operating method for such an airbag device.
