Abstract: An object is to increase the efficiency of work in the event of a missing item in a display shelve unit. A work assistance system includes a camera device that captures a goods display shelf and generate a captured image; a missing item detection device that detects an item-missing shelf which is a display shelf where a missing item has occurred based on the captured image, and that generates identification information of the item-missing shelf; and a work assistance device that determines a position of the item-missing shelf based on the identification information of the item-missing shelf and shelf map information indicating an arrangement of the display shelf and that transmits work assistance information including information indicating the position of the item-missing shelf to a terminal.
