Abstract: An image pickup device includes a ceramic package in which the image pickup device is mounted, and an optical member which seals a space defined between an image pickup surface of the image pickup device and the optical member within the ceramic package. The optical member is provided, on the surface thereof which is opposed to the image pickup surface, with a coating layer formed by ion-plating, the coating layer being adhered to the ceramic package by an adhesive.
