摘要: Solid-state spin sensor systems and methods of manufacturing are disclosed. A mounting structure may be provided in thermal contact with a solid-state spin sensor having a plurality of color center defects such that thermal energy flows from the solid-state spin sensor to the mounting structure. A microwave application structure may be disposed on a face of the mounting structure or a face of the solid-state spin sensor for applying microwave radiation to the solid-state spin sensor.

摘要: A method and system of improving T2* times for magnetic sensing using spin center ensembles is disclosed. The spin bath associated with the spin centers may be driven with a first source of electromagnetic radiation to reduce dephasing of the spin centers. The spin centers may be measured using double quantum (DQ) magnetometry in order to reduce the effects of crystal strain on T2*. Accordingly, up to an 8× improvement in DC field sensitivity may be accomplished for a spin center ensemble.

摘要: A system and method for performing vector magnetometry are described. A method can include illuminating diamond with a modulated optical signal and a modulated microwave (MW) signal. A first, bias magnetic field is also applied to the diamond. Light emitted from the diamond in response to the optical signal, the MW signal, and the first magnetic field is detected via a single detector at a fixed position relative to the diamond. A modulation of the detected light encodes information corresponding to a plurality of nitrogen vacancy (NV) axes of the diamond.
