    摘要: The present disclosure provides a measuring head for detecting a magnetic field provided by a magnet block having three pole surfaces. The measuring head may have three magnetic conductors for conducting the magnetic field. Each magnetic conductor may include an end face, where in at least one arrangement of the three magnetic conductors, the three end faces are arranged in one plane corresponding to the arrangement of the three pole surfaces. The measuring head may also include two sensors configured to detect the magnetic field.

    摘要: Stray magnetic fields created by non-symmetrical magnetisation of the permanent magnets in a rotating magnet array of a magnetic bearing assembly, when used in turbo molecular pumps, can cause significant problems to devices such as scanning electron microscopes. In order to minimise the stray fields, at least the dipole and quadrupole moments of each magnet in the array is first measured. The magnets in the array are then arranged relative to one another such that both the dipole and quadrupole moments are minimised, thus minimising the stray magnetic field when the magnet array rotates in the turbomolecular pump.

    摘要: A magnetic inspection station for tubular members and methods for operating the same have a longitudinal flaw detection assembly adapted to pass a circumferential magnetic field through a tubular member and a transverse flaw detection assembly adapted to pass a longitudinal magnetic field through the tubular member. The magnetic fields cause congregation of a ferromagnetic particles sprayed on the tubular member in a magnetic particle inspection fluid. The congregation of ferromagnetic particles indicates a flaw in the tubular member. The magnetic inspection station includes a clamping apparatus positioned closely adjacent to the magnetic inspection station and adapted to support the tubular member within the magnetic inspection station and exert a compensating force on the tubular member to resist the magnetic forces generated by the longitudinal flaw detection assembly and the transverse flaw detection assembly.
