Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a light guide plate; a light source that causes light to be incident on an end surface of the light guide plate; a hiding plate that is provided on a side of an emission surface of the light guide plate, and that includes a light transmission part which transmits light emitted from the emission surface and a light shielding part which has lower light transmittance than the light transmission part; and a colored board that has light reflectance closer to light reflectance of the light shielding part than light reflectance of the light transmission part in each wavelength, and that is provided on a side of a reflection surface of the light guide plate so as to overlap the light transmission part of the hiding plate when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the emission surface of the light guide plate.

Abstract: An optical system includes a light guide member having a light-incident surface, a first surface, a light-emitting surface facing the first surface, a first end surface, a second end surface, a plurality of collimating lenses disposed on the light-incident surface and being arranged along a first direction, and a plurality of prism pieces. The plurality of prism pieces include two or more prism pieces having different inclination angles with respect to the light-incident surface depending on positions of the prism pieces in at least the first direction, and each of the inclination angles of the two or more prism pieces is an angle formed between the first direction and the longitudinal axis of a corresponding prism piece. Each of the inclination angles of the two or more prism pieces increases as the corresponding prism piece is positioned closer to any of the first end surface or the second end surface.

Abstract: An optical multiplexer includes: an incident surface on which incident light beams having different wavelengths are to be incident; a reflection portion configured to reflect the incident light beams; and an emission surface configured to emit reflected light beams reflected by the reflection portion. The incident surface has adjacent condenser lenses corresponding to the respective incident light beams. The reflection portion has adjacent reflection surfaces configured to reflect the respective incident light beams which have been condensed. The adjacent reflection surfaces are respectively disposed so that angle β formed by the respective reflected light beams reflected by the adjacent reflection surfaces is smaller than angle α formed by the respective incident light beams which have been condensed. The emission surface has diffraction grating in which the respective reflected light beams reflected by the adjacent reflection surfaces are to be incident at a same position and diffracted in a same direction.

Abstract: A display device includes a light guide plate, and light sources allowing light to be incident on a first side surface and a second side surface of the light guide plate. First incidental side surface light from the first light source is reflected to an upper surface side by first reflection parts formed on a bottom surface to display a first pattern, and second incidental side surface light from the second light source is reflected to the upper surface side by second reflection parts formed on the bottom surface to display a second pattern. Slopes are provided at parts of the first side surface and the second side surface of the light guide plate, and light reflected on a facing reflection surface and propagating in the light guide plate again is reduced by the slopes.

Abstract: An optical system includes a light guide member having an incident surface, a first surface and a light emergent surface; and at least one prism provided on the first surface and configured to reflect light received by the incident surface and travelling inside the light guide member, towards the light emergent surface. The light guide member provides an optical path along which the light that has entered through the incident surface is directly reflected from the prism and allowed to emerge from the light emergent surface. The light guide member also provides another optical path along which the light that has entered through the incident surface is once reflected from the second surface, reflected again from the prism, and then allowed to emerge from the light emergent surface. The optical system is configured to be coupled to a light source, to illuminate a display system which projects a virtual image onto a target space.
