Abstract: Provided is a composite member, including: an inorganic layer that contains an inorganic substance containing at least one of a metal oxide or a metal oxide hydroxide. The composite member includes a resin layer that is provided on a surface of the inorganic layer and contains a resin and inorganic particles that are dispersed in the resin and some of which adhere directly to the inorganic substance of the inorganic layer. A porosity in a cross section of the inorganic layer is 20% or less, and a peak derived from a hydroxyl group is detected for the inorganic layer when measurement is performed using infrared spectroscopy or X-ray diffraction.

Abstract: A water-repellent member includes a matrix part including an inorganic substance including at least one of a metal oxide or a metal hydroxide, and a water-repellent resin present in a dispersed state inside the matrix part. The water-repellent member has a porosity of 20% or less in a section of the matrix part. A building member and a wet room member each include the water-repellent member.
