    摘要: The sheet metal or substrate material 22 is constructed by a photo-chemical machining or milling method. In this exemplary process, an etching mask 24 is applied to both sides of the substrate 22 and covers the structure of the flat-shaped member 12, which is to be uncovered in a subsequent etching step. The mask 24 is formed by coating the substrate 22 with a photoresist and is exposed through a photomask having the desired pattern that is arranged in front of the mask, whereby the photoresist is polymerized or hardened in the covered areas while the other areas are rinsed away after development.

    摘要: The present invention provides a process for producing a lancing element in which a flat-shaped member is formed from a flat material by applying a mask and allowing an etching agent to act upon it, wherein at least a part of the flat-shaped member is shaped as a tip. The mask is provided with a shaping area for the tip to be formed and with a screening area which extends distally beyond this shaping area to prevent the tip from being etched off at the front. A sharp tip is exposed by laterally undercutting the side flanks of the shaping area and screening area.

    摘要: The machine tool comprises one or several modules comprising a rigid chassis formed of a lower tubular frame (11) and an upper tubular frame (12). The lower frame forms a case containing a lubricating unit and an apparatus for the removal of chips (17). The upper frame (12) has the form of a prism of which two sides (18 and 19) in the form of isoceles triangles are connected by a connecting beam (20) of square section whose faces are inclined at 45.degree. with respect to the vertical. A mobile swivel support (23) is disposed astride the connecting beam (20). This swivel support carries two machining units (24 and 25) mounted symmetrically with respect to the axis (27) of a bar of raw material. Each machining unit comprises a spindle (28) actuated by a motor (29) and a device for displacing the spindle along three axes. The swivel support (23) may be turned around on the beam (20). It may also be prepared beforehand and programmed on a module outside the machine.

    摘要: A method of isolating a monoclonal antibody capable of inhibiting any one of IL-3, GM-CSF and IL-5 binding to the common receptor βc, or a monoclonal antibody capable of inhibiting the cytokines binding to a receptor analogous to βc. The method includes the steps of immunizing an animal with a cytokine receptor or portion of a cytokine containing the critical binding site which portion includes the extracellular domain 4 or analogous domain in the analogous common receptor or part thereof. Antibodies producing cells from the animal are then isolated and fused with a myeloma cell line and then screened for a cell line that produces an antibody of the desired type. A monoclonal antibody, or fragments thereof capable of inhibiting the binding of the cytokines IL-3, GM-CSF and IL-5 to the βc receptor, and a hybridoma cell line producing the antibody are also claimed.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a binding motif and methods of regulating cell function which methods target a single amino acid residue preferably a Tyr in a binding motif equivalent to a motif of the common beta chain (βc) of the GM-CSF/IL-3/IL-5 receptor. Preferably, the cell functions affect cell survival and proliferation in cells. The methods can be used for treatments of conditions relating to cell survival and proliferation and can be used to expand progenitor cells, for instance, for transplantation purposes.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a novel bidentate motif that is composed of two adjacent residues of tyrosine and serine which have been found to be involved in the binding of crucial cytoplasmic proteins which are involved in cell signalling pathways. In some cases, the cytoplasmic proteins are ubiquitous proteins involved in cell signalling pathways that may include mitogenesis, transformation and survival. The bidentate motif may have a sequence alignment (SEQ ID NO: 71) N-X-X-Y- (X) 1-13-[R/K/H/Q]-[X/Ψ] 2-3-S/T-X-P; (SEQ ID NO: 72) Y- (X) 1-16-[R/K/H/Q]-[X/Ψ] 2-3-S/T-X-P; or (SEQ ID NO: 73) N-X-X-Y-[X]1-30-[R/K/Q/H]-[X]1-4-[S/T]-X-p wherein X is any residue, Y is tyrosine, S/T is serine or threonine and Ψ is a hydrophobic residue or an equivalent thereof. Preferably the residues are Tyr577 and Ser585 of the common βc of the GM-CSF/IL-5/IL-3 receptor.

    摘要: A therapeutic agent capable of of binding to the F′-G′ loop of domain 4 of the common c Chain of the receptor for GM-CSF, IL-3, and IL-5. The amino acid Tyr421 which is located in the F′-G′ loop is critical in the high affinity binding and stimulation of function of GM-CSF, IL-3 and IL-5 to the common c chain of the receptors. Other receptors for cytokines also show hydrophobic amino acids in analogous positions and it is probable that they too play a pivotal role in binding of respective cytokines to them and in modulating function. Agents capable of binding to the F′-G′ loops are suggested and should be of therapeutic value.
