摘要： The present invention provides a method and associated apparatus providing a signal metric for a transmitter of a communication system. While the transmitter transmitting a signal with amplitudes scaled by scaling combinations selected from a plurality of scaling combination alternatives, the method including: providing a plurality of power terms, each power term corresponding to one of the scaling combination alternatives; and calculating the signal metric according to the plurality of power terms.

The power ratio compensator is capable of receiving a channel quality indicator and compensating a power ratio parameter according to the channel quality indicator, wherein the power ratio parameter defines a relation between power of the wireless communication channel and power of another wireless communication channel, and is referenced for setting the power of the wireless communication channel.
