The method includes generating, at the authentication server, a first security key that indicates a secure association between the home agent and the mobile node based on a second security key that indicates a secure association between the mobile node and the authentication server. The method also includes generating, at the authentication server, at least one first index associated with the first security key. The first index is also generated by the mobile node.     摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for implementation in a policy control and charging rules functional entity in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving, from at least one of a source policy and charging enforcement function in a source access network or a target policy and charging enforcement function in a target access network, information indicative of a mobile unit that has handed off from the source access network to the target access network. The method also includes establishing a first session for communicating policy and charging rules associated with the mobile unit. The first session is concurrent with a second session for communicating policy and charging rules associated with the mobile unit. The second session was previously established with the source policy and charging enforcement function in the source access network. The method further includes transmitting at least one policy and charging rule to the target policy and charging enforcement function using the first session.

The fiber optic bundle is made of ribbons of optical fibers. The frame includes an elongated opening of a shallow sawtooth geometry where each "tooth" has a width to accept a ribbon and an offset at one end to raise the respective edge of the ribbon in a direction opposite to that in which the drum is moving.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for use in a wireless communications network searches for the best serving access point of a base station as a function of communication link quality and load levels, thereby allowing a subscriber terminal to react to changes in RF conditions and load levels. In one implementation, a wireless modem in a fixed wireless access network initiates an access point searching algorithm in response to a triggering condition, such as initially powering-up the subscriber terminal or degradation of communication link quality or load levels. After detecting beacons for a plurality of neighboring access points, the wireless modem selects the best access point as a function of communication link quality and relative load levels to maintain adequate service quality and to react to changes in load levels. After an initial selection, the wireless modem may continually monitor quality/load conditions to determine whether to select a new access point.
