摘要： The invention is directed to a dental handpiece 1 comprising a grip sleeve 2 having at least one cordlike light guide 18 in the area of the handpiece head part 4 which passes out of the latter in the direction of the tooth treatment tool 5 and accordingly extends in its entirety within the grip sleeve 2 and is connected at the rear end to a light source 14. In addition, a detachable connecting piece 10 is provided for the connection at the end member 29 of a supply tube for the supply media of the handpiece, the connecting piece 10 being arranged so as to be freely rotatable relative to the grip sleeve 2, wherein the connecting piece 10 is provided with media throughpass ducts 22, 23, 24 which open into it and pass through it and which are connectable with media lines of the grip sleeve 2 leading to the use positions of the handpiece. The invention is characterized in that the light source 14 is arranged in a recess 11 located preferably eccentrically in the grip sleeve 2 and is electrically connected with at least one current conductor 15 which is connectable by means of a contact arrangement 16, 17, 34, 35, known per se, which permits a reciprocal rotation of the grip sleeve and connecting piece 10, with a current conductor 42 which penetrates the connecting piece and has a contact 36 at the end of the connecting piece remote of the tool for connecting to an opposite contact in the supply tube end member 29 (FIG. 1).

摘要： A dental toolholder (2) has an endodontic filing tool (18) which is clamped in the toolholder so as to be secured against rotational and axial movements. A vibrating movement is impressed on the tool. The tool (18) can be clamped at its rear shaft end with a slight play and the vibrations can be imparted to the tool at its front shaft end (15). This part encloses the front shaft end (7b) with slight play and comprises a cylindrical recess whose cross-sectional shape has a constant-diameter configuration. Accordingly, the tool is set into a swinging movement perpendicular to its axis. The structural component part (15) rotates preferably at approximately 20,0000 rpm.

摘要： In a tool holder assembly for a reciprocating dental tool including a hollow tool holder defining a tool holder chamber therein within which a dental tool may be mounted, a clamping mechanism is provided whereby a plurality of clamping balls are located about the periphery of the tool holder in order to impart a radial force to a tool body positioned within the holder. The tool holder includes a plurality of bores extending to its internal tool holder chamber and a clamping nut having a conically shaped inner surface engages the clamping balls and imparts thereto a radial force so that the balls, which are loosely mounted within the bores, may extend to within the tool holder chamber to clamp a tool therein.

摘要： A dentinal retention pin and dental tool for inserting the retention pin into the healthy dentine portion of a tooth. A cylindrical hole with a beveled top is predrilled in the tooth to receive a threaded end portion of the pin such that the threads cut into the dentine to secure the pin. A chamfered stop is positioned above the threaded portion, which seats against the beveled top of the hole to limit penetration of the pin into the tooth. The pin is dimensioned to stop before the threaded portion engages the bottom of the hole. A supra-coronal portion of the pin pertrudes above the stop and provides a surface for securely attaching a reconstructed coronal portion to the tooth. A manipulating section of the pin attaches to the supra-coronal section by a frangible link. The manipulating section comprises a cylindrical extension of the pin having a flat engagement surface in a plane approximately along the diameter of the pin. The dental tool for operating the pin has a socket for receiving and retaining the manipulating section, the socket having a flat surface for engaging the corresponding flat engagement surface of the pin. The pin is elastically retained in the socket to permit self-alignment of the pin along the axis of the hole within a range of tool positions.

摘要： A dental tool handpiece is provided with a spacer member which may be inserted into the collet of the handpiece which normally receives the tool and which has longitudinal slots adapting the collet to grip the tool when in operative engagement therein. The spacer member adapts the handpiece assembly to receive a shorter tool member within the bore defined within the collet, and when a tool member whose length is too short to reach the normal abutment surface must be operatively engaged within the collet, the spacer member may be inserted therein to shorten the depth of the bore and provide a substitute abutment surface for the shorter tool member. The spacer member includes a handle portion which is located to extend to within one of the longitudinal slots of the collet in order to facilitate guiding of the spacer member in place within the collet.
