摘要:
Multivariate graphs specific to a company's performance, alone or in relation to a benchmark, and methods for producing same include defining on a display screen an origin having a first value, extending from the origin at least three axes on the display screen, the axes being generally equidistant from each other and representing a respective variable, plotting on the display screen a value of each variable concerning the company as a point on a respective axis, and using the plotted points to interpolate first segments between the axes on the display screen. Benchmark information, extrinsic to the company, can be obtained, processed into a rating in the same manner as the company data, and superimposed for ready visual comparison of the company's performance to the obtained benchmark. The benchmark information, if shown, is distinguished from the company's performance graph.

A zoom in/out interface to a ratings system provides navigation to users for inspection and interaction with prescribed indicators underlying an integrated rating of a company's performance. The interface presents at various different depths in a hierarchy of the prescribed indicators the multivariate relationships that exist among the indicators, expressed as variable values, as well as the basis for the underlying values of each indicator down to the source of the data.

A computer implemented rating system for rating a company using at least one non-economic factor stored in a database populated with hierarchical data and metadata. The system displays at least a portion of the hierarchical data and a formula that generates a sustainability score, the sustainability score defining a rating of the company incorporating the at least one non-economic factor. The user can input at weightings into the system which associates each weighting with a respective non-economic factor. A processor computes the sustainability score using the formula by mathematically applying each associated user-input weighting to the respective non-economic factor. The system displays the sustainability score, and, in response to a user interaction, displays at least a portion of the hierarchical data including the metadata. The hierarchical data can include a second level of data which is used to compute the first level by applying weightings in a formula.

Tiered-access to data from which integrated ratings on companies is derived to users at machines connected to a distributed computer network. All users are presented with a name of a particular company in association with a computed integrated rating through a first interface component. Only a subset of the users is permited to interact with prescribed indicators from which the integrated rating is derived. A rating system accessible through connections to the network executes on a host machine and includes the first interface component. A processor computes each integrated rating as a single rating value by application of a formula to prescribed indicators contained in a database. A second interface component permits only selected users to interact with the prescribed indicators. Optionally, a third interface component enables further specific interactions in response to any permission established by the second interface component.

A method for a rating system identifies user-selected performance indicators associated with one or more properties. A rating is computed for each of the user-selected performance indicators and for each entity in an entity class by applying at least the user-selected performance indicators to a rating algorithm. The entity class is divided into at least three approximately equal numbers of entity. For each of the performance indicator rating, the method sorts the performance indicator relative to a respective performance indicator of the other entity in the entity class, maps the sorted results to one of the at least three divisions of the entity class, and identifies and presents a portion of the user-selected performance indicators that represent indicators that outperform or underperform the entity class.

Computer-based rating of the sustainability of legal entities. Data is stored concerning at least non-economic factors of legal entities, and is used to compute sustainability scores for each entity's performance. Financial and economic criteria may also be stored and computed. Sustainability scores may be used to rate companies, governments, products and executives on a scale, with respect to each other, or within groups such as whole industries. In one embodiment, a subscriber is permitted to customize how scores are computed, to reflect subscriber preferences.
