摘要： A grouping mechanism (14) for grouping articles (B) in a continuous infeed stream comprises a series of spacer elements (16) adapted to engage successive articles from the infeed stream and locate the articles relative to one another as the articles are conveyed through a working reach (W) of the mechanism. The spacer elements have cam followers 18 for co-operating with a rotatable cylindrical cam which cause one group of articles to be spaced apart in the feed direction from a next succeeding group of articles while the spacer elements move through the working reach. A return transfer belt (40) is provided to return the spacer elements along a return reach (R) such that they are returned upstream of the working reach where they are disposed for engagement with successive articles in the infeed stream.

摘要： A packaging carton manufactured from a pre-shaped blank (10), cut from a flexible sheet of foldable material. The carton has a plurality of panels (A, A1, A2, B, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E) and naps (32, 33, 36, 37) separated by fold lines (16 to 31) that define edges of the panels. Selected pairs of the end flaps (36, 37) of the carton incorporate between them a foldable gusset (39) subtended by two converging fold lines (40,41) that converge on a selected fold lines (16, 19). Further selected flaps (32, 33) of the carton (40) are provided with slots (34) each of which is dimensioned and positioned for receiving one of the gussets (39). The gussets (39) are positioned relative to the slots (34) so that the gussets (39) engage in, and are retained by, the respective slots (34) thereby to hold adjacent panels of the carton together.

摘要： An article carrier is formable from a blank having opposing side wall panels interconnected by a set of major end panels. A set of minor end panels of one side wall panel is foldably adjoined to an unjoined end another side wall panel or to the other set of minor end panels. The side wall panels are interconnected by the minor end panels to form a substantially tubular structure. Transverse panels are connected to at least one of the side wall panels in the blank. The transverse panels extend between and interconnect the side wall panels in the erected carrier. The tubular partially-erect carrier is collapsible into a flat-face condition. Connecting structure includes at least one top connecting panel hingedly adjoined to a respective one of the transverse panels. In the erected carrier the connecting structure interconnects the transverse panels.
