摘要： A packaging system for storing and dispensing pourable items includes a box that has an opening. An inner liner inside the box has a removable portion defined by at least one line of weakness. The removable portion is positioned adjacent to the opening in the box. The packaging system has a first mode for longer term storage in which the removable portion remains intact to seal the inner liner, and a second mode for dispensing the contents of the inner liner through the opening in which the removable portion has been at least partially removed from the inner liner. In one embodiment, the box comprises a front wall having an opening and an inside surface, a back wall, a first and a second side wall, a top and a bottom flap, and a slide that is in contact with the inside surface of the front wall, the slide having an opening. The front wall, back wall, first and second side walls, and top and bottom flaps are interconnected so as to form a box, the slide being movable between an open position in which the slide opening substantially aligns with the front wall opening and a closed position in which the slide opening is entirely out of alignment with the front wall opening, thereby closing the box. A method of dispensing a pourable item includes forming a packaging system, removing the removable section from said inner liner, and pouring at least a portion of the contents of the inner liner through the opening in the box.

摘要： A side-filled, flip-top reclosable carton comprises opposing top and bottom walls and opposing front and back walls where the front wall includes inner and outer panels. First and second top minor flaps extend from opposing ends of the top wall. First and second bottom minor flaps extend from opposing ends of the bottom wall. First and second back major flaps extend from opposing ends of the back wall. First and second wing flaps extend from opposing ends of the front inner panel. First and second front major flaps extend from opposing ends of the front outer panel. The first and second front major flaps and the front outer panel including a continuous horizontal tear strip for opening up the carton from a sealed form to form a lid hingedly attached to a base section. The first top and bottom minor flaps, the first front and back major flaps, and the first wing flap are uniquely designed to permit sealing of the first side wall using a conventional flap folding sequence so that the carton is entirely compatible with conventional form-fill-seal equipment. The various second flaps are similarly folded and glued using the conventional folding sequence to form a second side wall opposing the first side wall.

摘要： A paperboard carton doubles as a shipping container for articles such as beverage cans and a cooler for containing ice to cool the articles when the carton is opened. The top portion of the carton is breached by removing an opening strip defined by zipper rules. Once breached, the tops and side panels of the carton are opened up to form an upwardly open chimney or skirt into which ice can be placed to cool the contents of the carton. Gussets formed in the lower corners of the cartons insure that water from melting ice does not leak prematurely from the carton.

The carton has a plurality of panels (A, A1, A2, B, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E) and naps (32, 33, 36, 37) separated by fold lines (16 to 31) that define edges of the panels. Selected pairs of the end flaps (36, 37) of the carton incorporate between them a foldable gusset (39) subtended by two converging fold lines (40,41) that converge on a selected fold lines (16, 19). Further selected flaps (32, 33) of the carton (40) are provided with slots (34) each of which is dimensioned and positioned for receiving one of the gussets (39). The gussets (39) are positioned relative to the slots (34) so that the gussets (39) engage in, and are retained by, the respective slots (34) thereby to hold adjacent panels of the carton together.
