Abstract: An example device for coding (encoding and decoding) video data includes: a memory configured to store video data; and a processing system comprising one or more processors implemented in circuitry, the processing system being configured to: determine a context for context-based coding a current transform coefficient of a current block of video data according to previously coded transform coefficients, the previously coded transform coefficients being a sequence of immediately preceding transform coefficients to the current transform coefficient in scan order; and context-based code the current transform coefficient using the determined context.

Abstract: A video coder may be configured to code a plurality of syntax elements that indicate an absolute value of a transform coefficients in a block, wherein the plurality of syntax elements include a significance flag and four or more greater_than_N flags. The video coder may further determine first respective contexts for each syntax element in a first set of the plurality of syntax elements from respective context tables for each syntax element in the first set of the plurality of syntax elements, and determine second respective contexts for each syntax element in a second set of the plurality of syntax elements from a shared context table.

Abstract: A method of processing video data includes determining a quantization level for a coefficient of a current block from a plurality of quantization levels; determining an offset value based on the quantization level, wherein the offset value is a first offset value based on the quantization level being a first quantization level or a second, different offset value based on the quantization level being a second quantization level; determining a quantization parameter or an inverse-quantization parameter for the coefficient based on the determined offset value; and as part of encoding or decoding the current block, performing one of quantization or inverse-quantization for the coefficient based on the determined quantization parameter or the determined inverse-quantization parameter.
