Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for determination of multipath for determining a location of user equipment (UE) are presented. In some embodiments, the UE may, based on a first indication of signal strength associated with a first polarization type, and a second indication of signal strength associated with a second polarization type, determine an indication of multipath reflection along a path of signal propagation between a space vehicle (e.g., GNSS satellite) and the UE. Circularly polarized positioning signals may be received by the UE via natively present linearly polarized antennas and converted into circularly polarized signals. Converted circularly polarized signals may include right-handed and left-handed components, and signal strengths for each component may be compared to determine the presence of multipath. Positioning signals may be given a weight or disregarded based on the multipath determination when determining the position of the UE.

Abstract: A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver for a portable device includes a first linear polarization antenna configured to receive a first linear polarization component of a GNSS signal; a second linear polarization antenna configurable to receive a second linear polarization component of the GNSS signal, a radio frequency signal conforming to a second wireless communication technology, or both; and a hybrid coupler that combines the first linear polarization component of the GNSS signal and the second linear polarization component of the GNSS signal to generate a circularly polarized GNSS signal. In some embodiments, the GNSS receiver includes a tuner to tune the resonant frequency of the second linear polarization antenna. In some embodiments, the GNSS receiver includes a switch or a filter to connect or disconnect the second linear polarization antenna from the hybrid coupler to implement a circular polarization antenna or a linear polarization ante.

Abstract: A mobile device may be configured to perform concurrent Satellite Positioning System and communication system operation, e.g. enabling an SPS receiver to continue to receive SPS signals in frequency bands that are interfered with due to aggressor transmission signals. A controllable filter, such as a selectable and/or tunable notch or lowpass filter is used to reject the aggressor transmission signals. The controllable filter may also attenuate some, but not all, frequencies in the SPS L1 band. To avoid losing complete access to these filtered SPS signal frequencies, the controllable filter is controlled, e.g., selected or tuned to these frequencies only when the aggressor transmission signal is active, and is otherwise turned off or tuned away from the SPS signal frequencies.
