Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for transmitting wireless communications including obtaining a public and private key pair for a wireless network, transmitting synchronization information to the wireless network, generating a digital signature using the private key based on a nonce and at least a portion of the synchronization information, and transmitting authentication information to the wireless network including the digital signature. This disclosure also provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for receiving wireless communications including verifying the digital signature using the public key, receiving data and reference information based on the synchronization information, and authenticating, based on the verified digital signature and the reference information, the received data.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for establishing an encrypted connection between a first node and a second node in a wireless mesh network. In an aspect, the first node receives, from a provisioner node in the wireless mesh network, a first value encrypted with a device-specific encryption key known only to the first node and the provisioner node, wherein the second node receives, from the provisioner node, the first value encrypted with a second device-specific encryption key, generates a friendship-specific encryption key based on the first value, an identifier of the first node, and an identifier of the second node, wherein the second node generates the friendship-specific encryption key, sends, to the second node, a first message encrypted with the friendship-specific encryption key, and receives, from the second node, a second message encrypted with the friendship-specific encryption key.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to performing a reliable broadcast from a source device to a plurality of nodes. In an aspect, a representative node establishes a first wireless communication link with each of one or more non-representative nodes, receives, from each of the one or more non-representative nodes, information indicating an ability of the one or more non-representative nodes to sniff wireless communications, establishes a second wireless communication link with the source device, configures the second wireless link based on the information received from the one or more non-representative nodes, sends control information for the second wireless communication link to each of the one or more non-representative nodes, and receives communications from the source device over the second wireless communication link, wherein the one or more non-representative nodes sniff the communications on the second wireless communication link based on the control information for that link.

Abstract: There is a need to enable a wireless device to output signals such that the natural instincts of the user may be triggered. The present disclosure provides a solution by enabling a wireless device to determine a time delay and intensity difference associated with an audio output at a subset output devices based at least in part on a perceived spatial placement of at least one signal, a position of the transmitting device, and/or a signal strength associated with the signal. Using the time delay and the intensity difference, the output devices farthest from the transmitting device may output the at least one signal using the time delay and the intensity difference such that the user may detecting differences in the sound wave's time of arrival and intensity at the left ear versus the right ear, and thus, perceive the location of the audio source.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to using directionality to reduce flooding in a wireless mesh network. In an aspect, a node of the wireless mesh network receives a message for a destination node in the wireless mesh network, determines whether or not the message came from a direction of the destination node, drops the message based on determining that the message came from the direction of the destination node, and forwards the message based on determining that the message did not come from the direction of the destination node.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to congestion control, message analysis, and other improvements in a wireless mesh network. For example, according to various aspects, one or more devices in the wireless mesh network may be configured as monitoring nodes and a graph representing a message flow path in at least a portion of the wireless mesh network may be generated based at least in part on information related to one or more messages observed at the monitoring nodes. The graph can then be used to identify a path used to relay a message from at least one destination node to at least one source node (e.g., via one or more intermediate nodes). As such, a time-to-live (TTL) value to be used in messages communicated between the source node and the destination node can be appropriately configured based on a hop count between the source node and the destination node.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first peripheral device may receive, at a controller layer from a host layer, a command for information from a second peripheral device associated with the first peripheral device. The first peripheral device may provide, from the controller layer to the host layer, the information from local information stored at the first peripheral device. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for detecting a security threat in a wireless mesh network. In an aspect, a monitoring device in the wireless mesh network detects a first message transmitted by a source node in the wireless mesh network to a destination node in the wireless mesh network via at least one relay node in the wireless mesh network, collects information from the first message as it is transmitted in the wireless mesh network, determines that the first message has been corrupted based on analysis of the information from the first message, and detects the security threat in the wireless mesh network based on the first message being corrupted.
