Abstract: Aspects relate to roaming using multi-link communication. In some examples, a wireless station communicating with a first access point via a multi-link connection, using a first link and at least one other link, may identify a failure condition associated with the at least one other link. In this case, the wireless station may use one of the links to verify a connection to a second access point, while maintaining connectivity with the first access point via the first link Once connectivity to the second access point is verified, the wireless station may switch its multi-link connection to the second access point.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling direct link communications in multi-link systems. An example method generally includes transmitting, to a first wireless station via a direct link between the first wireless station and one or more second wireless stations affiliated with a multi-link device (MLD), a data frame comprising a transmitter address field set to an address of the MLD, which is one of a plurality of addresses associated with the MLD and the second wireless stations being affiliated with the MLD for multi-link operations. The method also includes communicating with the first wireless station via the direct link.

Abstract: A wireless station (STA) operating as a non-simultaneous transmit-receive (NSTR) soft access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) associated with a primary link and a non-primary link determines that the non-primary link is unavailable, and transmits, on only the primary link, a frame carrying an indication of the unavailability of the non-primary link. The NSTR softAP MLD may set a Do Not Transmit (DNT) bit to a value of 1 and may operate as a single-link device on the primary link based on the unavailability of the non-primary link. In some instances, the NSTR softAP MLD determines that the non-primary link is available while operating as the single-link device on the primary link, resets the DNT bit based on the availability of the non-primary link, and transmits the reset DNT bit in another frame on only the primary link.
