    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) obtains one or more first reception characteristics of a channel sounding signal transmitted by a second UE during a first transmission occasion of a detection duration, obtains one or more second reception characteristics of the channel sounding signal transmitted by the second UE during a second transmission occasion of the detection duration, and performs one or more sensing operations based on a difference between the one or more first reception characteristics and the one or more second reception characteristics indicating a presence, absence, or movement of an object.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may communicate an allocation of a set of time-frequency resources of a carrier for transmission of a first codeword. The first wireless device may map a first portion of the first codeword to resource elements of a first subband of the set of time-frequency resources in a frequency-first, time-second manner and a second portion of the first codeword to resource elements of a second subband of the set of time-frequency resources in the frequency-first, time-second manner. The first portion of the first codeword may include a contiguous portion of the first codeword preceding the second portion of the first codeword. The first wireless device may transmit, within the set of time-frequency resources, the first codeword based on the mapping.

    Abstract: A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a network node, a group of downlink transmissions. The method also includes segmenting a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) payload into a group of segments in accordance with a segmentation configuration. The method further includes forming, for each segment of the group of segments, a first HARQ-ACK part and a second HARQ-ACK part. The method also includes jointly encoding each first HARQ-ACK part and jointly encoding each second HARQ-ACK part. The method further includes transmitting the jointly encoded first HARQ-ACK parts and the jointly encoded second HARQ-ACK parts.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a control message indicating to switch from a first slot format to a second slot format. The first slot format may include symbols for reference signal transmissions and symbols for data transmissions. Thus, the first slot format may be a full-TDM slot that supports time division multiplexing (TDM) reference signals and data. The second slot format may be a hybrid TDM/frequency division multiplexing (FDM) slot or a full-FDM slot that includes at least one symbol for frequency division multiplexing (FDM) reference signals and data. Based on a capability of the UE and the control message, the UE may switch to the second slot format and communicate a reference signal in a symbol configured for FDM. That is, the reference signal may be FDMed with data according to the second slot format.

The configuration may include time periods for transmitting multiple sidelink synchronization signals. The first UE may perform a channel access procedure during the sidelink discovery burst transmission window. The first UE may perform the channel access procedure for transmitting one or more of the sidelink synchronization signals according to a pattern indicated by the configuration. The pattern may be based on a quasi co-location relationship between associated pairs of the sidelink synchronization signals. The first UE may transmit the one or more sidelink synchronization signals to a second UE in accordance with the pattern indicated by the configuration.
