Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an aerosol delivery device and a holder for use with a removable substrate cartridge. In one implementation, the holder includes a main body defining a proximal end and a distal end, and an outer sleeve configured to slide relative to the main body, the outer sleeve also defining a proximal end and a distal end. The outer sleeve is configured to slide to a use position, in which the proximal end of the main body extends beyond the proximal end of the outer sleeve and the distal end of the outer sleeve extends beyond the distal end of the main body, and a storage position, in which the distal end of the main body extends beyond the distal end of the outer sleeve and the proximal end of the outer sleeve substantially covers the proximal end of the main body.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an aerosol delivery device and a consumable unit for use with a holder of an aerosol delivery device. In one example implementation, the consumable unit comprises an ignitable heat source and a substrate material having an aerosol precursor composition configured to form an aerosol upon application of heat thereto. The heat source of the consumable unit is contained within a susceptor pouch, and the susceptor pouch is configured to be heated by an inductive heating assembly to ignite the heat source. In some implementations, the susceptor pouch comprises the consumable unit. In other implementations, the substrate material is contained within a substrate container.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a holder of a smoking article comprising a receiving end and a mouth end opposite the receiving end. The holder defines a socket that is configured to receive a proximal section of a cartridge. The holder has a lighting configuration in which the holder is configured to secure a proximal section of the cartridge to the holder with a heat source of the cartridge opposite the proximal section disposed beyond the receiving end of the holder. The holder has a received configuration in which the holder is configured to secure the proximal section of the cartridge in the socket with the heat source disposed proximate the receiving end of the holder. The receiving end comprises a substantially solid outer wall.

At least part of the receiving chamber is located in the heat sink portion, and the heat sink portion is configured to dissipate heat from a substrate cartridge. Some implementations further include a cartridge retention assembly and a sliding assembly. The sliding assembly is configured to slide relative to the main body to and from at least a loading position, wherein the cartridge retention assembly is configured to receive a substrate cartridge, and a use position, wherein the cartridge retention assembly is configured to retain a substrate cartridge.
