Abstract: A plurality of radially oriented pistons are each surrounded by a cylinder sleeve so as to be free to slide within the same. Each of the cylinder sleeves has a radially outer end which engages and surrounds a portion of a part-spherical surface of a stationary member. Inlet and outlet valves are provided in the stationary member on the respective portions of the partspherical surface which are surrounded by the radially outer ends of the cylinder sleeves.
