    摘要: A pump adapted for use in desalination systems that has four cylinders, with a double acting piston in each cylinder. Each cylinder and piston thereby defines a feed chamber and a recovery chamber. The pistons are connected to a common drive. The connection to the common drive is such that the pistons reciprocate in a sequence equally spaced in time. Reciprocating valving for each piston is driven by the common drive to be 90 degrees out of phase with the respective piston.
    The valving connects the recovery chamber alternately to an inlet manifold for an intake stroke of the piston relative to the recovery chamber, and to an outlet manifold for a discharge stroke of the piston relative to the recovery chamber. There is a brief period of closure coinciding with top dead centre and bottom dead centre of the piston, during which the recovery chamber is blocked off from both the inlet and outlet manifolds. The reciprocating valving is midway between its top dead centre and bottom dead centre during the period of closure.

    摘要: An apparatus according to which a power end of a reciprocating pump assembly includes a block having bores formed therethrough, and crossheads disposed in the bores and adapted to reciprocate therein. A lubrication pump is in fluid communication with the bores. The pump is operable to pump lubrication fluid into each of the bores so that the crossheads are lubricated as they reciprocate within their respective bores. In another aspect, a power end includes a crosshead block and a power frame connected thereto, the frame including rib plates and supporting the crosshead block. In yet another aspect, a method includes casting a crosshead block; fabricating rib plates; connecting the rib plates to form a frame; and connecting the cast crosshead block to the frame. In some embodiments, the power ends may be used in oilfield operations such as, for example, the cementing, acidizing, or fracturing of a subterranean wellbore.

A discharge side is configured to have a first discharge connection connected thereto. At least one shaft is in operable communication with each of the first and second gears. A bearing is configured to support at least one of the shafts via an inner bore and having an outer peripheral surface. A valve bore is formed into bearing between the inner bore and the outer peripheral surface. A second discharge connection is formed into the bearing. A tap provides fluidic communication between the valve bore and a pad defined in the inner bore. A valve is positioned in the valve bore. The valve includes a moving valve member. A spring biases the moving valve member in a direction toward the second discharge connection. A fuel pump system is also disclosed.

The strain gauge for each pressure pump may measure the strain in a respective chamber of each pump. The position sensor for each pump may measure the position of a rotating member of each pump. The monitoring system may also include one or more computing devices for determining actuation delays associated with valves corresponding to the respective chamber of each pump using expected actuation points and actual actuation points of the valves. The computing devices may compare the actuation points for the valves of all of the pressure pumps to determine a condition of a valve in one of the pressure pumps.

The strain gauge may determine strain in a chamber of the pressure pump. The computing device may receive a strain signal generated by the strain gauge and may correlate the strain signal to pressure to determine a change in pressure during a period in which fluid is isolated in the chamber. The computing device may use the change in pressure during this period to determine a bulk modulus of the fluid system.
