[Class 79 (i)] In an endless track of the locked girder type, the coacting abutment surfaces of adjacent links are rendered inaccessible to dirt by being enclosed in an encasement which expands and contracts as the abutment surfaces move away and towards one another. The encasement may be a rubber tube-like member which embraces the two abutment surfaces at its opposite ends. Fig. 1 shows two adjacent links 1, 2 whose coacting abutment surfaces 3, 6 are enclosed in a tubular resilient member 9. Fig. 2 shows the two links with their abutment surfaces in contact, the tubular member 9 being deformed into curved recesses 10, 11 provided for the purpose. The resilient encasing members may be of such dimensions and material as will impart a general resiliency to movement of the track links.
