    摘要: In order to prevent material from passing into a plenum chamber, an assembly for fluidizing the material includes a deck supported above the plenum chamber. The plenum chamber has an intake in communication with a source of pressurized air, and the deck includes an inverted channel for distributing the pressurized air to the material in a preselected air distribution pattern and an inverted channel for supporting the material in a position generally above and in spaced relation to the air distributing channel. With this arrangement, the material supporting channel is disposed in spaced relation to the air distributing channel to permit the pressurized air from the plenum chamber to fluidize the material.

    摘要: A continuous preheat charging method including the steps of transferring scrap from a receiving point to a discharge point, preheating scrap adjacent the discharge point prior to delivery of preheated scrap to one of a pair of melting furnaces, and alternately feeding preheated scrap to the pair of melting furnaces. A continuous preheat charging system is also disclosed which includes a scrap charge transfer conveyor having a scrap receiving end and a scrap discharge end together with a weigh feeder station at the scrap receiving end and a preheating station at the scrap discharge end. After scrap is weighed at the weigh feeder station and fed to the transfer conveyor, the scrap is preheated at the preheating station and delivered to a furnace feeder station to be fed on an alternating basis to one of a pair of melting furnaces.

    摘要: This apparatus provides a slag handling system wherein slag is transported directly from a cupola furnace to a tank of water. The bottom of the tank slopes upwardly from a lower end to an upper end, and the tank forms part of a vibratory conveyor. The water in the tank is maintained at a level below the upper end of the material-supporting surface of the conveyor so that slag exiting from the cupola is quenched by the water and then conveyed upwardly through and out of the water for discharge from the upper end of the material-carrying surface.

    摘要: A vibratory material handling apparatus is provided for mixing of materials, cleaning, blending and/or shake out of castings or the like. The apparatus comprises a container having a material supporting surface disposed along a generally horizontal longitudinal axis. The container has a material input end and a material discharge end axially spaced therefrom and it is resiliently mounted relative to a mounting surface. The apparatus also includes a vibration generator for producing a force to cause material within the container to be directed in a path of tumbling movement generally in a direction from the material input end toward the material discharge end of the container. With this arrangement, a tumbling assist mechanism is provided for applying a force to the material in addition to the force produced by the vibration generator to facilitate tumbling of the material as it moves along the path of tumbling movement.

    摘要: A vibratory stress relief apparatus is provided and has a resiliently supported base and an adjustable rate vibratory member on the base. A housing having a support plate and spaced side walls is resiliently supported on the base. A casting rests in the housing with a closure secured to the support plate in spaced relation to the casting. Shims are provided for positioning the closure a predetermined distance from the casting whereby the vibratory member will vibrate the housing and the casting and will hammer and rattle the casting between the closure and the support plate to relieve stresses in the casting and to clean sand and other impurities from the internal and external surfaces of the casting.
