摘要： An actuator (150) for an anti-reverse device which is extended through a sleeve in a reel housing and snap-fit thereto. An elongate body (412) with a head (432) and a bifurcated end defines first (415) and second (416) portions which are assembled in the reel from the exterior of the housing. The first portion engages the anti-reverse device. The second portion is fabricated from a resilient material and includes a lip (420) depending from adjacent its inward edge. The second portion is urged toward the first portion as the body is captured within the opening in the reel housing. With the actuator fully seated the lip engages the inside wall (450) and in conjunction with the head (432) captures the wall so as to retain the actuator. A protrusion 428 on the radial outer face of the second portion engages the wall of the opening to resiliently load the respective first and second portions in the opening and engages in one of two detents to position the actuator in one of two setting positions.

摘要： A closed face spinning reel has a housing with an opening affording access to the reel mechanism. The opening is closed by a removable cap. The cap is seated on a radial flange in the opening and has legs on its inner surface which engage cap locking surfaces on the inner face of the flange. Means are further provided to warp the cap to exert an inward force upon the flange to hold said cap within the opening.

摘要： A spin casting style fishing reel is provided with an anti-reverse mechanism that prevents the crank assembly from being rotated in one direction. A pawl actuator is rotated by the crank assembly rotating in one direction to activate an anti-reverse pawl which engages a ratchet to arrest further rotation of the crank assembly. Rotation of the crank assembly in the other direction rotates the pawl actuator to move the anti-reverse pawl out of interferring relation with the ratchet to permit free rotation of the crank assembly in said other direction.

摘要： A fishing reel is disclosed which is of the spin cast type having a suitable internal mechanism including a spinner head assembly, a spool assembly, a reel body, and an anti-reverse assembly. The reel has an improved housing including a front cover and a rear cover with a stem and mounting foot thereon for mounting to a fishing rod. The front cover has two parts, the first part being cylindrical with a front and rear edge and the second part having a conical forward portion and a cylindrical rearward portion. The front edge portion of the first part has two cylindrical flanges forming an annular groove therebetween. The inner of the flanges has spaced apart cutouts therein. The rearward end of the second part is receivable within the annular groove of the first part and further has tabs around its interior which project into the cutouts when so received, thereby preventing the first and second parts from being pulled apart.

摘要： A ratchet spring for a spinning reel engageable with a line-carrying spool to produce an audible clicking noise to alert the user that line is being withdrawn from the spool. The spring comprises a first portion secured to a deck plate and a second portion diverging angularly from the first portion, away from the deck plate and toward the spool. The second portion is flexible towards and away from the deck plate. A V-shaped portion extends from the second portion, with the V opening towards the deck plate such that the apex of the V rides over the serrations as the spool is rotated, to produce the clicking noise. A portion of the spring has a protrusion with a tab formed thereon. The protrusion is introduced within an opening in the deck plate and when fully extended therewithin, engages the tab behind a shoulder on the deck plate to secure the ratchet spring to the deck plate.

摘要： A sliding drag assembly for a spin casting style fishing reel comprising a clutch ring, disposed between a deck plate, associated with the reel body, and a line-carrying spool. Brake washers may be mounted between the clutch ring and the spool. The clutch ring comprises a substantially flat body with a plurality of legs or cam followers extending angularly from the plane of the body and toward the deck plate. The deck plate has a plurality of ramps or cams corresponding in number and location with the legs or cam followers. Translation of the clutch ring guides the legs or cam followers on the ramps or cams, moving the body forwardly or rearwardly of the reel, depending on the direction of movement of the clutch ring. Preferably, the body and legs are formed as a single piece from a sheet of resilient material, as is a tab, which is folded at a right angle to the plane of the body and through which the ring is manipulated. A drag actuator operatively engages the tab and is threadably engaged with a post attached to a star wheel. Rotation of the star wheel and post effects translational movement of the ring transverse to the axis of the reel whereby the cams and cam followers increase or decrease the drag on the spool.

摘要： This invention comprehends a closed face spinning style fishing reel wherein a spinner head is mounted on a center shaft and is movable between a line retrieval position, a line snubbing or line braking position, and a line casting position. The line snubbing or line braking position of the spinner head is provided by moving the spinner head forward to trap or snub the line between a line braking ring on the spinner head and the inside surface of the front cover of the reel. The line braking ring is mounted on the spinner head for movement in a plane parallel to the front surface of the spinner head to orient the line braking ring in concentric mating relationship with respect to the surface of the spinner head thereby assuring positive line snubbing or line braking when desired.
