Abstract:
An apparatus for taking hold of, lifting, transporting and putting down centrifuge drums of mechanically loaded and unloaded centrifuges for clearing oil and water therefrom, and washing, drying and other processing of pieces of material in industry, includes a traveling hoist able to be moved between at least two stations and supporting a lifting and lowering system, on whose end, which can be run out into a working position, there is a gripper for gripping such a centrifuge drum near its top edge. For quickly and safely taking hold of lifting, transporting and putting down centrifuge drums of mechanically loaded and unloaded centrifuges the apparatus is provided with a frame, joined up with the traveling hoist, and two gripping shoes, which are placed opposite to each other and able to be moved radially in relation to the drum so as to be partly round it, the shoes being bearinged in the frame so that they may be turned about a horizontal axis, at least one of the shoes having a driving system for turning it.
Abstract:
Centrifuge for degreasing and washing objects, particularly industrially manufactured pieces having blind holes, comprises a housing provided with a tilting device for tilting the centrifuge into an inclined position and returning it into an upright position. A rotary centrifuge drum is located within the housing and is equipped with a drive ring connected to an additional drive arrangement having a friction wheel adapted to be pressed against the drive ring to reduce the rotational speed of the centrifuge drum.
Abstract:
The present invention is with respect to a bell-like centrifuge drum for freeing metal turnings of oil continuously and which is made up of a lower drum part (1) with a floor (2) and a coned wall part (3), at whose top edge an outwardly running flange (4) is placed and an upper drum part (5) at whose lower edge there is again an outwardly running flange (6), which, producing a gap (10) for letting off liquid to be cleared from the turnings, is fixed on the flange (4) of the lower drum part (1). To make it simpler for the oil let-off openings of the centrifugal drum to be more readily kept free and more quickly cleaned of waste material, in the invention the gap (10) is designed stretching as far as the inner face (9) of the drum wall and conically becoming wider from the inner face (9) of the drum wall to the outer face (11) of the drum wall and the clearance diameter of the top edge (12 ), present at the inner face (9) of the drum wall, of the gap (10) is greater than the clearance diameter of the lower edge (13), present at the lower drum part (1), of the gap (10).
Abstract:
A comminuter for metal turnings and the like has a rotor rotatable on a support about a fixed axis and carrying at least one outer rotor element and at least one inner rotor element which define a cylindrical orbit on rotation of the rotor. A housing surrounds this rotor and is formed by a U-shaped upwardly open portion of non-tapering cross-sectional shape and a flat cover part engageable over the open upper side and openable in order to clear a jam in the machine. Stator elements carried on this housing are spaced slightly from the rotor element so that as the rotor turns turnings and the like fed to the machine will be comminuted and passed from an inlet to an outlet end.
Abstract:
A centrifuge comprises a support on which an upright shaft is supported in a bearing so as to be rotatable about an upright axis but nondisplaceable axially relative to the axis. A floor member is fixed to the shaft and has a downwardly flared support surface that can engage snugly with the downwardly flared support surface of an annular wall member that may therefore rest on the floor member. This wall member has at least one radially opening hole and is provided below this wall with an outwardly extending flange. A trough surrounds the wall member below the flange and may be raised into engagement with the flange to lift this wall member off the floor member and allow material inside the centrifuge to be discharged.

Abstract:
Process of degreasing and washing objects, particularly industrially manufactured pieces having blind holes, comprises the steps of arranging a centrifuge drum in upright position, rotating the drum at high speed about its vertical axis of rotation, placing the objects to be treated into the drum and degreasing the objects. The drum is thereafter tilted into an inclined position and driven at a reduced speed so that the objects are tumbling in the drum while a cleaning and rinsing agent is charged into the drum. A higher speed is then imparted to the drum and a part of the cleaning agent is removed therefrom. The drum is thereafter returned to its vertical position where the objects contained in the drum are dried by rotating the drum at high speed while blowing hot air therein.
