摘要： A manufacturing method for a base plate for use in a disk drive is provided. The base plate includes a first face and a second face that are opposed to each other. The first face includes a concave portion formed thereon for accommodating a disk-shaped storage medium. During manufacturing of the base plate, a cutting process is performed for the unfinished base plate so as to remove a raised portion at a position at which a bottom face of the concave portion and a wall standing from the bottom face are connected to each other. In this manner, the base plate in which raised portion remains at the position at which the bottom face and the wall are connected to each other is obtained.
