摘要： A circuit breaker communication system is provided including a circuit breaker, an electronic module to record and store data associated with the operation of the circuit breaker, and a portable communication unit for downloading the stored data. The portable communication unit includes a power source, a display unit, a processor unit, a communication interface, and a keypad. Also, a cable is provided for interconnecting the portable communication unit to the electronic module. The cable is configured to carry a data signal between the portable communication unit and the electronic module, and to conduct power to the electronic module from the power source. The system may include an optical communication link to transmit to or receive signals from the circuit breaker, a transmitter to transmit data to the optical communication link; and a receiver to receive signals from the optical communication link.

摘要： Methods and systems for selecting and connecting an electronics package to a power source from one or more of a plurality of possible power source paths. An embodiment of the invention uses inexpensive analog components to select a power path by testing the possible power source paths for a desired potential. The invention interrupts the alternate power path while maintaining the connection of the electronics package to the power source through the selected power path. An optional removal circuit removes the testing and selection circuitry once the alternate power path is interrupted. In actual embodiment of the invention, the methods and systems described are included in a reversible circuit breaker.

摘要： A system and method for subtransient current suppression in a power system. A generator is configured to provide an output current to a power distribution system. A current sensor is configured to sense the output current. A switch is configured to direct the output current to ground when the switch is closed. A controller is configured to close the switch for a time delay in response to identifying a level of the output current that is greater than a threshold level and to automatically open the switch in response to identifying an end of the time delay.
