    摘要: Method, system, and computer program product are provided for processing an ultrasound image, in particular an image of inhomogeneous tissue. The method includes: segmenting tissue in a received ultrasound image; creating a mask of pixels centred on a pixel in a tissue area, wherein the pixels in the mask are within a given decibel range of the central pixel and within a segmentation boundary; and assigning an attenuation to the central pixel by estimating the attenuation of the pixels in the mask. The received ultrasound image may be a raw image the method may include creating an image of an attenuation mapping of attenuations for each pixel in a tissue area. Alternatively, the received ultrasound image may be a time gain compensated image the method may include determining areas of relatively high or low attenuation.

    摘要: A method of identifying a calcium and/or a soft plaque deposit in a blood vessel using imaging data of the blood vessel is provided. A first threshold is applied to a slice of three-dimensional imaging data of a blood vessel to define voxels above the first threshold. A maximum intensity of the blood vessel is identified from the defined voxels. A distance from the identified maximum intensity to a center of the blood vessel is calculated and is compared with a distance threshold. If the calculated distance is greater than the distance threshold, a calcium deposit is identified. A second threshold is applied to the slice to define voxels below the second threshold. If a calcium deposit is identified or if the defined voxels below the threshold have a half-moon shape, a soft plaque deposit is identified.

    摘要: A method for encoding characters includes identifying one or more sequences of the character codes that are likely to be generated due a segmentation error in application of a pattern recognition process, and associating a respective extension character code with each of the sequences. The area of an image containing characters is divided into segments, such that each segment contains approximately one character. The pattern recognition process is applied to each of the segments in order to generate an input string of character codes. At least one of the identified sequences of the character codes in the input string is replaced with the respective extension character code so as to generate a modified string. The output string is determined by comparing the modified string to a directory of known strings.
