    摘要: A motor having an alternating current electrical source, a light power circuitry, a stationary transcutaneous energy transmission coil spaced from a rotatable transcutaneous energy transmission coil, a plurality of phototransistor arrays positioned on a rotatable platform and each phototransistor array corresponds to and rotates in conjunction with an armature winding used in the motor. Each phototransistor array (i) receives an alternating current from the rotatable transcutaneous energy transmission coil, and (ii) charges (a) each armature winding to a constant high voltage when the motor is operating and (b) each phototransistor/MOSFET power source to a desired power level. When the light from the light power circuitry contacts a phototransmitter, the phototransistor array is turned on so the armature winding associated with that phototransmitter generates an instantaneous maximum magnetic field.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to an overvoltage disconnect circuit for a lithium ion battery and/or cell. The lithium ion battery has at least one lithium ion battery cell having a rated voltage or a desired voltage, an input terminal, and being chargeable by a charger. The overvoltage disconnect circuit has (1) a switch unit, and (2 & 3) a first and second voltage dividers connected to (4) a comparator. The switch unit is in series with the lithium ion cell and the charger and the gate of the switch unit is connected to the comparator. The first voltage divider receives the voltage of the charger and generates a second charge. The second charge is proportionally below the voltage of the charger. The second voltage divider receives the voltage of the charger and generates a predetermined charge; the predetermined charge is proportionally below and sometimes less than the rated voltage or the desired voltage of the cell. The comparator compares the predetermined charge to the second charge. If the second charge is below the predetermined charge, the comparator transmits a an operational signal (which can be a non-signal) to the switch unit that allows the charger to continue charging the lithium ion cell; And if the second charge is equal to or greater than the predetermined charge, the comparator transmits the operational signal to the switch unit that disconnects the charger from charging the lithium ion cell.

    摘要: A medical device for performing a biopsy is described. The medical device comprises a housing having a sidewall extending along a longitudinal axis. A primary passage in the housing extends from an open proximal housing end to a window adjacent to a distal end. A secondary passage extends from the open proximal housing end to a distal opening in the housing sidewall adjacent to the window. A biopsy rod has a length extending from a proximal handle to a distal end. A cutting recess is provided in the rod sidewall. With the biopsy rod received in the primary passage and the distal end of the biopsy rod at the distal end of the primary passage, the cutting recess is alignable with the window. The rod is then rotatable in the primary passage to cut a sample of body tissue as it aligns with the housing window and continues being rotated. The secondary passage provides for administering a medicine to the surgical site through the distal opening in the housing sidewall without removing the needle device from the body.

The secondary passage provides for administering a medicine to the surgical site through the distal opening in the housing sidewall without removing the needle device from the body. That way, the primary passage enables a surgeon to administer a first drug or medicine to a surgical site during a surgical procedure. If needed, the surgeon can administer a second drug or medicine to the surgical site through the secondary passage.

    摘要: A surgical system comprising a cannula for an elongate surgical tool that enables a physician to operate on a surgical site within a body from outside the body is described. The cannula supports a pin that is locked and unlocked from a J-shaped channel provided in the sidewall of a sheath for a surgical tool. The sheath prevents the surgical tool, such as a scalpel, from cutting the cannula as it is moved there through to the surgical site. The surgical tool, in turn, is provided with a second J-shaped channel that engages with a pin supported by the sheath for locking and unlocking the tool there from to enable a physician to perform the surgical procedure. One surgical tool is interchangeable with another for performing different tasks at the surgical site during the procedure.
