摘要: A device and system for and methods of using an ultrasound probe housing containing ultrasound probes configured to produce images inside the body of a patient for procedures requiring needle or probe insertion. The ultrasound probe housing can be configured with a guide channel cut-out or aperture between the ambient side and body side of a patient. A needle guide assembly may be pivotally connected internal to the guide channel cut-out or aperture of the ultrasound probe housing at a pivot point such that during use the needle enters the patient through the needle guide assembly within the ultrasound probe housing so that the needle can be visualized by the ultrasonic probes in real time. The ultrasound probe housing may also provide an adhesion or suction quality to the body side of the device to facilitate aspects of the invention.

摘要: A cannula assembly, which can be used in a catheterization process, has an elongate cannula tube with a proximal inlet opening, a distal outlet opening, a lumen extending continuously between the inlet opening and outlet opening, and a sharpened cannula tip delimiting the outlet opening. The cannula tube is configured to receive and guide a flexible medical functional section, which is insertable into the lumen and movable along the lumen. A blocking device with a blocking element is assigned to the lumen. The blocking element is configured to interact with the flexible medical functional section and, depending on a movement direction of the flexible medical functional section, is automatically transferred between a blocking position, in which the blocking element blocks a withdrawal movement of the flexible medical functional section by acting on the functional section, and a release position, in which the blocking element releases an advancing movement.

摘要: A modular signal interface system for providing electrical communication with a surgical instrument when the surgical instrument is inserted into a cannula of a trocar. The system includes a signal interface adapter and an instrument connector. The signal interface adapter is provided on, or adapted to be mounted on a trocar, and includes central aperture extending therethrough and a proximal face having a plurality of conductive contacts. The instrument connector is provided on or adapted to be mounted on a shaft of a surgical instrument, and includes a central aperture extending therethrough and a distal face having a plurality of conductive contacts. The signal interface adapter and the instrument connector are adapted for mating engagement such that, when matingly engaged, their central apertures are axially aligned and predetermined ones of the plurality of contacts of the signal interface adapter are in conductive contact with predetermined ones of the plurality of contacts of the instrument connector.

摘要: The present disclosure provides for an interlocking cannula system that includes a handle and a set of cannulas. The set of cannulas includes a sequence of smaller to larger cannulas constructed such that the smaller cannulas may be nested within larger cannulas. Each cannula in the set of cannulas includes a respective locking mechanism configured such that each cannula may be interlocked with each of the other cannulas in the set. The handle is constructed such that each cannula in the set may interlock with the handle by the respective locking mechanism of the cannula. In some instances, the respective locking mechanisms are constructed to enable an ordered release of the cannulas.

摘要: A surgical access assembly and method of use is disclosed. The surgical access assembly comprises an outer sheath and an obturator. The outer sheath and obturator are configured to be delivered to an area of interest within the brain. Either the outer sheath or the obturator may be configured to operate with a navigational system to track the location of either within the brain. Once positioned at a desired location, the obturator is removed, leaving a distal end of the outer sheath adjacent an area of interest, and creating a working corridor. Interrogation of the area of interest may be performed to evaluate a disorder and/or abnormality, as well as evaluate treatment regimes. Interventional devices may also be introduced to the area of interest, as well as a variety of treatments.
