Abstract: A self-deploying counter for an aircraft monument is disclosed. In embodiments, the monument is installable adjacent to a cabin space within an aircraft passenger cabin (e.g., on either side of an exit door) and the self-deploying counter includes a partition door capable of being pivoted between a default closed position and an open position extending into the cabin space. The self-deploying counter has a horizontal top surface and an undersurface. When the partition door is deployed, the counter pivots in concert with the door's deployment, the fully deployed position corresponding to the open position of the partition door.

Abstract: A passenger rest cabin situated in the overhead crown area of an aircraft provides individual rest compartments along either lateral side of a central longitudinal corridor of limited height. The corridor and entrance thereto is configured to minimize the risk of claustrophobia by providing sensory preparation systems and techniques. Sensory preparation including transitional compartments with variations in video, lighting and ventilation are presented to the passenger to create a more inviting space. The limited height corridor is equipped with a series of handholds, sized and spaced according to the size of the average passenger, to mitigate the strain of traversing the corridor in a bent over position.

Abstract: An integrated imaging system for a connected aircraft includes cameras mounted within the passenger cabin and other interior and exterior areas of the aircraft. Each camera may have a particular field of view (FOV) which may include one or more defined zones within the aircraft. Each camera may capture an image stream including direct views of passengers, seating, and/or within the camera's FOV. The system includes image processors for receiving the raw image streams and assembling enhanced image streams, e.g., by stitching together or composing image streams from within the same zone or from different zones, or by overlaying the image streams with relevant environmental data. The enhanced or composite image streams may be wirelessly sent to fixed-mount or mobile display devices (e.g., tablets, smartphones) for viewing by cabin crew, who may scroll through or select different views of the aircraft via the display devices.

Abstract: Transformable monuments may be positioned proximate to aircraft exit doors to utilize the doorway spaces as temporary workspaces for cabin crew or destination spaces for passengers once cruising altitude is achieved. A transformable monument includes transforming portions that extend or pivot into an aircraft cross-aisle upon actuation of an exterior latch by either hand. The transforming portions extend or pivot into horizontal surfaces for crew or passenger use while protecting the exit doors from unauthorized access by passengers inflight. Transforming portions of a single monument may extend partially or fully across the cross-aisle, or a system of two transformable monuments on either side of the exit door may collectively define the temporary space. The upper and middle sections of the monument may include additional storage or self-service compartments for providing refreshments or other amenities to passengers.
