    摘要: An ink jet printer includes an ink head with a nozzle surface, a cleaner assembly including a cleaner that contacts the nozzle surface, a conveyor that moves the ink head and the cleaner assembly relative to each other, and a controller. The nozzle surface includes a first end in a first direction, and a second end in a second direction. The controller brings the cleaner into contact with a portion of the nozzle surface ahead of the first end in the second direction, and then moves the cleaner in the second direction while keeping the cleaner in contact with the nozzle surface. Thereafter, the controller moves the cleaner away from the nozzle surface. In addition, the controller brings the cleaner into contact with a portion of the nozzle surface ahead of the second end in the first direction, and then moves the cleaner in the first direction while keeping the cleaner in contact with the nozzle surface.

The movable table includes caps and is movable in the main scanning direction by the conveyor. The guide device defines a path along which the movable table is movable between a cap attaching position, a valve opening position, and a retracted position. Movement of the movable table to the valve opening position causes the lifters to abut against the cap valves to bring the cap valves to an open state and expose opening/closing passages to the atmosphere. Movement of the movable table to the cap attaching position from the valve opening position causes the lifters to move away from the cap valves to bring the cap valves to a closed state.

The wiper cleaner includes a first member, a second member, an absorbent, and a presser. An opening is located in the first member. The second member includes a projecting portion opposed to the opening. The absorbent has a plate shape and is disposed between the first member and the second member. The presser presses the second member toward the first member. The projecting portion presses the absorbent toward the opening. A portion of the absorbent is deformed to form a protruding portion that protrudes in a projection direction of the projecting portion from the opening by pressing by the projecting portion. The mover moves the wiper such that the wiper contacts the protruding portion of the absorbent.
