摘要: Systems, methods, and computer media for integrating requests for reserved allocations of advertisement impressions and requests for dynamic allocations of advertisement impressions are provided. A request is received from a first advertiser to purchase a reserved allocation of advertisement impressions. The request specifies a requested number of impressions that each have one or more requested attributes. One or more bids to dynamically purchase one or more impressions through a real-time bidding process are received from an external bidding agent. An internal bidding agent bids, on behalf of the first advertiser, to dynamically purchase one or more impressions through the real-time bidding process until the request from the first advertiser to purchase the reserved allocation of impressions is satisfied.

摘要: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to tuning detection components of a security system. In aspects, a history of alerts is collected. This history is then used together with knowledge about tunable objects of the system to determine parameters of the tunable objects that can be changed to improve detection of the system. Parameters of tunable objects are adjusted in a simulator that determines an effect on alerts in the history based on the adjusted parameters. A recommendation of one or more tuning actions may be provided together with information regarding the effect of each tuning action.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided to smooth a jagged outline of a reconstructed text generated through any of a variety of systems, such as, for example, an image scanner. Given the reconstructed text with a jagged outline, the methods smooth the outline of the text first through location of horizontal and vertical edges, and subsequent gray scale reconstruction of the edge ink level from a one-bit or a low number of bits edge pattern. The methods then provide identification of the local text outline pattern and corresponding ink level adjustment of the center pixel. The methods produce text having very smooth horizontal and vertical edges. The methods then smooth slanted edges, mend holes in the text, and remove isolated pixels of ink.

摘要: An image descreening process first smoothes the image, where smoothing is accomplished by applying a convolution with a low pass filter (LPF) kernel, which is a parameter to the descreening function. Using the smoothed image, a determination is made for each pixel for which pixels around it participate in the modified filter. For a current pixel, a window is considered having the size of the LPF kernel, with the current pixel at the center. A threshold T1 which is given as a parameter, is used to mark the pixels in the current window. Considering a pixel in the window, if for all color components the difference between this pixel value to the center pixel value is less than T1 in absolute value the pixel is marked with a 1. Otherwise, the pixel is marked with a 0. Finally, an adaptive version of the LPF is applied. If the number of pixels marked with a 1 in the window is less than a third of the kernel size, the original pixel value is restored. Additionally, for a color component for which there is a small change in values within the original (non-smoothed) window (i.e. the difference between the maximal value to the minimal value in this component is less than another threshold T2), the value of this color component is restored. If these conditions do not hold, a new value for each component is determined. To be the convolution of the original window, the LPF kernel is masked with the 0/1 markings from the second step. That is, the modified convolution uses an adaptive kernel which is identical to the LPF kernel in the locations marked with one, but has zero entries in the locations marked with zero.

摘要: An improved method and apparatus for reconstructing digitized images processes one or more color formats, e.g. contone or 1-bit, and readily operates with both single and multiple scan systems. The preferred embodiment of the invention provides an image reconstruction path that receives a digitized image, e.g. from a scanner or from memory. The output of the image reconstruction path is a processed RGB or CMYK image that may be printed or stored in memory. The image reconstruction path itself is configured to operate in either of a multiple or single scan environment if the source of the digitized image is a scanner. Within the image reconstruction path there is a plurality of functional units that can be controlled by user or internal controls, or that can be optionally bypassed. These functional units include a preliminary color adjustment function, an automatic deskew function, a background and dust removal function, a descreen function, a text detection and enhancement function, a color conversion function, a scaling function, and a color manipulation function.

摘要: A technique for segmenting an image into text areas and non-text areas in which an image is stored with the following information per pixel: gray scale intensity (4 bits) and an indication of whether the pixel is neutral or color (1 bit). The image, e.g. a scanned RGB image, is converted to 0-15 levels of intensity and has a neutral/color indication bit assigned to each pixel. The technique proceeds in three phases as follows: Tile the image by square blocks, e.g. 6×6 or 8×8 for 600 dpi images, and store information about each block in a buffer; sweep the buffer left to right three tile rows at a time and make a preliminary decision for every tile-block in the middle row; examine the decision made in the previous step in a context block, e.g. a 3×3 block, and make revisions if necessary.

摘要: A method and apparatus for image classification includes a first embodiment, in which halftone detection is performed based on the size of a boundary set between a class of light pixels and a class of dark pixels, and further based upon image information contained within each single image plane (i.e within one color plane). This embodiment of the invention is based upon the distinctive property of images that halftone areas within the image have larger boundary sets than non-halftone areas within the image. A second, equally preferred embodiment of the invention provides a cross color difference correlation technique that is used to detect halftone pixels.
