Abstract: Provided is a print medium finishing apparatus including a print medium stacking plate; a stacker tray; and a print medium discharging apparatus configured to discharge, to the stacker tray, print media on the print medium stacking plate, wherein the print medium discharging apparatus includes at least one driving gear that is rotatable; a moving member configured to move linearly and curvilinearly with respect to the at least one driving gear and including a motion converting gear configured to engage the at least one driving gear and convert rotation of the at least one driving gear into a linear motion and a curvilinear motion; and a grip member configured to be moved linearly and curvilinearly by the moving member while holding the print media on the print medium stacking plate, and to place the print media on the stacker tray.

Abstract: Provided are a device and method for controlling a paper interval in a paper feeder of an image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus including the device. The device includes: a leading edge sensor configured to detect a leading edge of a sheet of paper when the sheet of paper is picked up and fed as a printing medium; a feed unit configured to accelerate the sheet of paper; and a control unit. If the sheet of paper arrives late at a paper sensing position of the leading edge sensor, the control unit measures a travel time during which the sheet of paper is fed to the paper sensing position, and according to the measured travel time, the control unit varies a time point at which the sheet of paper starts to be accelerated.

Abstract: A sheet-type medium transporter comprises separation rollers to separate a sheet-type medium from sheet-type media picked up from a load tray in which the sheet-type media are loaded to be transported out of the load tray in a transporting direction; and an air blower coupled to at least one separation roller of the separation rollers to be driven by the at least one separation roller, to supply air in a direction substantially opposite to the transporting direction of the load tray and toward the sheet-type media, to lift the sheet-type medium from the sheet-type media, which is to be separated by the separation rollers.
